Now entering their seventh year, the Dublin Electronic Arts Festival is independently-run by veteran Irish music label D1 Recordings and is every year further cementing its reputation as one of the most forward-thinking events of its kind in our cultural calendar. DEAF's artistic remit has widened considerably since its inception, moving beyond the confines of its roots in club culture, realising Ireland as a creative centre for the digital arts.

Deadbeat are heavily involved in DEAF this year and have many events on over the festival. The first Deadbeat event is Ultradyne in Kennedys undergound on 23rd OCT....
Ultradyne the mysterious duo from Detroit have been making some of the more interesting and unique electro music to grace a turntable. They have a multitude of releases since 1993, all quality, with even the strangest and most impenetrable tracks on first listen finally revealing themselves to be the diamonds in the rough they are.The fact that Ultradyne normally lets the music do the talking for them and are rarely unmasked has not done them any harm in the development of a strong cult following around the world. Its now time to listen and obey! http://www.myspace.com/ultradyne

Support on the night will come in the form of Lightyear an electro artist heavily influenced by funk and sounds of anolog synthesizers.Rarely seen on this planet he usualy lost in the sounds of space, expect a lashing of sideways electro funk... http://www.myspace.com/lightyearinspace
Other support on the night comes from DeFeKT an irish Electro Dj/producer who is heavily influenced by Kraftwerk,Boris Divider and Early Anthony Rother. He started first playing techno but eventually found his love in Electro from the influence of Kraftwerk'numbers' and si-fi film's like Blade Runner.Dark electro with images of what the future could hold. http://myspace.com/defektedelectro
