    Hey DM,

This happened to me about a month ago due to some very vigorous cleaning of the keyboard.

I got onto Dell straight away and they could not have been more helpfull.
I had a whole new keyboard in two days AND as I had a little issue as to how to pull the circuit slip off the back when I emailed them they phoned me straight back and explained it.

    Bell.:D

I recently worked on a laptop with similar problems and as bellapip said, Dell simply mailed her out a new keyboard, because the laptop was still under warranty.

If you goto their site and download the complete manual for your laptop, it should have instructions on how to replace the keyboard, but the keyboard they sent also had instructions.

The manual also shows how to replace an individual key, so if your laptop is not under warranty, you can order the individual keys and replace them. It is a little tricky, but not too hard.

I wonder if anyone can help me with my keys issue. I've a Dell Inspiron laptop that is one year old. I spilled literally a dab of sauce on one of the arrow keys-careless but there you go.

That was yesterday and now both the spacebar and the 'b' and 'n' buttons aren't working. I removed the keys and can't see much wrong with them-there isn't a lot of dirt and the rubber thing is still on fine.

    Any suggestions?

Thanks MC. Should this definitely do the job? There isn't a chance it could be anything else?

Well yes the laptop could have moisture damage, if you feel confident then open it up and check.

It should be no more than €20 delivered from an ebay china seller for the keyboard btw.
