How fast are Dell

    I ordered a Studio 15 laptop from dell on the 24th of September. Initially they told me it would take about a week to deliver. but then once I paid, I got sent an email saying delivery date the 5th of November. I called them immediately and they told me it would not take that long, however i am already waiting 3 weeks, so i called them again today, and they told me they didnt know how long it would take. I'm just wondering if anyone has had the same trouble with them recently.? or is there anything I should do?

    LOL Dell fast! LOL

    ...don't hold your breath. I had to testify in court for a woman that was waiting for Dell six months (and that was with phone calls weekly to remind them)!

    Thanks for that Biggins. hmm, feeling a little disappointed now! was all excited for the full spec lap top. now i might just tell them to cancel it and go buy a basic on somewhere else. I cant wait much longer. my other "laptop" is 7 years old and its time to put it to rest!

    why don't you go into a store or check adverts.ie some good deals there with good specs. dell =useless

    In all seriousness, Dell sometimes (it's rare) get their act together but they are not known for their speed (or quality of service, long term costs and skills).

    Your far better off trying to get your money back and going elsewhere.
    Personally (I've been in the computer biz for 22+ years), I wouldn't touch or trust Dell with a barge poll.

    I ordered a Vostro laptop from Dell on the 1/10 and it was passed to Interlink for delivery on Saturday so I found them ok.

    It depends on the popularity of the model, and the incoming order rate. The more orders, the longer it will take them to build. I bought my XPS in May and it took 3 working days, but I hear of people waiting a couple of weeks around now.

    There's a good chance then that it's the Autumn-Christmas rush putting a squeeze on things.
