Have watched up to this weeks episode.

Its been very hit and miss and not all that good. This weeks was decent and probably the best so far.

Any one watching it these days?

Yeah, I'm still watching and I agree - feels average this season so far and lacking direction. I just don't feel they know where they are going with it any longer and just pick completely random list stuff for Earl to do every week. The "Sweet Johnny" episode of this week was an improvement but his girlfriend's massive ass really annoyed me as it was done in a "cartoony" fashion almost - I mean the show has always had a lot of insane moments in it, but this was a complete caricature... I wish "30 Rock" would start already...

watched seasons 1 - 3 over the last month, as i only dipped in and out when it was aired. jaime pressly stands out, as she is joy. she has great lines. thought season 3, when
he's in a coma and thinks he's in a cheesy sitcom
was bit contrived, but the rest of the characters made up for that. also enjoyed
    his jailtime
I also love how they **** with darnells backstory.

and the soundtrack always impresses, esp as they get the original songs, nbc must have a serious rights/royalty deal.

season 4 is a bit of a slow starter but, its not too bad.

I assume this is only available in the States so far, and by dubious means here?

I have not watched all of season 3, but I found alot of that fairly hit or miss, and kind of hoped that was the end of it, as I cannot see where it can go anymore.

Yep, an improvement over the last few weeks - still not back to its' prime though and a bit too sweet an ending...

I had a great laugh tonight.

    Maybe cause I'm pissed

    Maybe cause it was funny

    Who knows

Nope, it was a good episode - Joy had some great lines (
"I'm Barbie. I taped up my nipples so I'm all smooth"
) and Darnell was hilarious too (
"I was trained to think 3 steps ahead", "I prepared for this moment last December"
, etc)... Possibly the best one so far this season.

Best one so far this year. When he farted in bed it was a classic as we've all done it

Yep, funny episode - I think it's always good when Earl is his old a***ole self, rather than karma Earl...

Really enjoyed this week, "Nature's Gameshow" - some pretty wacky situations with the tornadoes (finders, keepers :)) and I laughed at the MacGyver homage (I'm old..). Lots of Catalina boobage in the episode too...

Randy's death threats to Ernie were great :D. But really, the show has gotten a bit too ridiculous I think and seems to have lost any cohesive storyline - I still laugh at various moments and throwaway jokes but it really seems to be going nowhere and that's probably why cancellation is looking imminent (though, God help us all, FOX may pick it up ).

I did enjoy the whole "Inside Probe" poking* fun at "serious" reality crime investigation shows, if nothing else, for pointing out how ridiculously over-dramatized events are presented...

    * Pun intended :)

The shows quality is varying alright. Still it has Jamie Pressly who is dirrrty :D Ya so would.

I have found this season to be a bit weaker then the previous ones. I feel they are running out of ideas to some extent.

They have been running out of ideas for the list and is abit hit and miss but I still like it

The thing that really turned me off the show was that in season 3 they had his life getting a bit better. he got a job and an apartment. I assume they just realised that they didn't want to change the show that much and so in sove very dodgy episodes had him basically go back to square one. Now there is no sign of his life improving at all, just the pointless weekly list item with no payoff.

just the pointless weekly list item with no payoff.

Part of the problem is that in many episodes this season, the list doesn't play into things at all and it just comes across as Earl (or the writers for that matter) not caring about it that much. However, since that was the core idea of the show, it definitely seems pretty random now and like it's going nowhere - I agree with you that the earlier seasons did have him becoming a better guy, finding love, etc and seemed to be going somewhere (though TBH, I think "bad" Earl is definitely funnier). Nowadays, not so much... Not every show needs a larger story arc (I enjoy "30 Rock" and that's about as random as it gets) but the problem with Earl is that it started with one, which then fizzled out with no real resolution and by mid-season 3, it was looking more and more like the writers have indeed completely run out of ideas...

    Major bummer.
Earl, Randy, Darnell and Joy were some of the best characters on tv. It's a real shame that this show wasn't picked up. Damn you NBC!!!

Goddammit. They left it on a major cliffhanger too. Hopefully Fox will pick it up.
