Favourite Bodybuilder ???

Just wondering if any one out there has a favourite bodybuilder? My top 10 would be

    1 Lee Priest
    2 Victor Matinez
    3 Ronnie Coleman
    4 Flex Wheeler
    5 Jay Cutler
6 Dexter Jackson AKA The Blade
    7 Denis James
    8 Tony Freeman
    9 Troy Alves
    10 Johnnie Jackson

I have to say that the standard of bodybuilders in Ireland is amazing at the moment you have Tommy Staunton, Enda Wright, Jay Reed, Paul White to name but a few.

Just taught I would start this thread to see if others have the same opinion.

    In order of ;
Ronnie coleman- he truely has the freak factor, no body could come in a nearly 300lb ripped to shreds like him, no wonder is an 8 time mr o winner
Victor Matinez- my next favourite, although out because of his knee, he is well on the mend and back trainning, if he makes the next mr.olympia he will win hands down.
Dexter jackson- the current mr.O AND arnold classic, he realy did deserve the win, exremely stream lined.
    Flex Wheeler- Absolutely amazing
Jay Cutler- the only man that could hold a candle to ronnie coleman, he entered the pre judging this year in bad condition but looked alot better the following night for the finals, still didn't deserve 2nd place he was out classed by wolf and phil heath.
Now that ronnie is gone he doesn't have to play the size game anymore so he should drop some weight and come in at 230-240 RIPPED,its the only way he will win again.

Ronnie – now there is a sight, if he did drop the weight he would look amazing. The guy is crazy strong – leg press something like 800 kg?

Victor – I really think that he would have piss*** all over the blade this year. Victor has an amazing body, the muscle is so full and perfect form.

Dexter – totally agree with you. He made Jay look crap I taught. Will he continue or is he retiring?

Jay – was just watching him on the battle for the 06 Olympia and I have to say he is huge but I think that he could do a little more on conditioning and than the size. For the sat show he dropped something like 11 pounds and respect to him he did look a lot better but the blade still had him (7 points in the difference)

Aww no don't say that man, ronnie is and always will be a mass freak, he dominated for so long coz nobody could match his size and conditioning, not sure what he will do next year, he wount do anymore mr.olympia's but if asked to the arnie classic he said he would do it, he would still dominate that, dex aint gonna do the arnie next year, id say he will consintrate on keeping his mr.o title.

Jay took the loss like a man though didn't he?
He was the first to congratulate dex.

Ronnie will always be a legend. And I do think that he will be in the Arnie and of course win. Jay in fairness he did take it like a man, he knew that the blade had him. But he did not go done with out a fight. Speaking of the Mr O Lee Priest will be back on the stage, I take it your not a fan?

The Priest is back in the IFBB and will be competing early next year to qualify for the O.

I was trying to keep my list to the top 10 but to be honest I have so many favourites, Dorian now there is a great bodybuilder. Kevin Levrone, have you heard his band?

Do they have lightweight BB contendors, or ones done by height etc? e.g. would there be events where guys are more the size of cover models on mens fitness etc?

I remember seeing womens fitness contests on eurosport or some other sports channels, they were doing dancing and other stuff, nicely built.

    easy, Serge Nubret.

    sn154.jpg

Powerful and strong yet aesthetically pleasing. The golden era of bodybuilding in my opinion before mass became king.

It was a crime he didn't win Mr.Olympia in 1976 a lot of whispers suggested it was rigged for Arnold to win to ensure the movies (Pumping Iron) success.

They have an under 202 class now but there still huge just 5'5 - 5'7. In the womens they have figure, fitness and bodybuilding classes. This is all in the IFBB so others are different.

Ronnie is the man. Arnie was the man before him. Dorian was pretty cool too.
How could anyone like Lee Priest? He seems like a cool dude but he's hella short physique wise

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 73 ✭✭Nowler

    You mean height?

Preist is pretty impressive, not the best but impressive non the less.

What did you expect - the man Arnie, is an 'old' man - and he wass the main man along with Serge, Franco, Lou etc- the scene really took off thanks to these boys, legendary. Pumping iron - although Arnie is a bit of a dick, its truly inspirational to watch!

So its true, muscle turns into fat. You were warned Arnie.

Levron(e) is also in a few films as well, check out IMBD for a listing i think.

I always liked Lee Priest, back in the GetBig days i used to chat to him and he was a really cool guy. Frank Zane i always liked, something about his build that was pretty amazing.

Larry Scott also had an amazing physique.

Although my hands down favourite Bodybuilder of all time is the Myth.

    It's hard for me to pick a fave.... But it would be between;

Andreas Munzer for his inhuman conditioning
    20030207102143.jpeg
    ultra%20sec.jpg

    Dorian, just because!!
    Dorian%20Yates.jpg

Andreas pips it for me tho. I know it's what killed him, but his conditioning still leaves me absolutely gobsmacked, and I don't think it's going to be surpassed for a VERY long time. If ever.
