What do you have to change to have it count in this thread? :)

    My money pit:

Will repost a link when I move to a crosstop brake lever and retape the bars. Also got a lovely new crank from wheelandsprocket since this picture. The original was damage in a run in with the luas lines on harcourt st.

You have to be confident in your superiority over factory bikes:P

Mid 90s Raleigh Maxx. 26" wheels, mtb brakes forced onto the bullhorn bars. Dodgy bent chainwheel from wheelandsprocket which makes a fair bit of noise, clinks and clanks. Does the job though ! Not exactly cost effective mind you.

It would be nice to tag the bikes on the Bike Gallery somehow to format em.

I put a bottle holder on my Bowery, so it's no longer factor spec

I must get a recent photo of my IRO, it's changed a bit since the last time I posted it!

Sean, does that bike go to UCD?

    :)

I have new stem, bars, brake lever, cable, bottle cage and rear sprocket.... so it's not 'standard' -does it count? (and new wheels on the way too!)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,234 ✭✭✭flickerx

and my other one. this one i built the wheels myself too which worked out well.

Yea it's up there most days.

/edit: Does the IRO have a big rear mudguard on it perchance?

its only a temporary saddle, i have to get a better one. i had a testicular cyst removed a few years back so i have to take it easy on the undercarriage.

Sure why not, you'll have to promise never to associate with the Bowery/Langster club though;)

You'll be properly inducted when you get the wheels on.

Great, I'm feeling quite left out here. I have no bowery or langster, but it is a factory jobbie. I'm pretty sure I must be the only dispatch owner out there, but I shall know for certain at the "First Annual Dispatch" convention (FAD for short). I've rented out a large function room, fully catered, free booze, etc. Hopefully this FAD will take off and there will be plenty more people to talk with about the latest beanie caps, messenger bags, custom parts, etc.

    Nice lookin bikes here though.

    Beautiful build.

Cheers. Did take me ages to get the chainline right though, until I realised I'd done something pretty dumb. I'll let you guess what that was.

I got it from BiKyle in the States. Was on a waiting list for a couple of months before it came in. I see the price is up by $100 since I bought it.

Nope. You can actually see it in the photo, which was taken before I figured it out.

Saw ya the other day in Ranelagh, those bright yellow bars are hard to miss! Mad concoction, looks built for the Dublin streets (MTB frame) with skinnier slick tires for pace..

My ride's changing nearly daily, a Record Sprint, planning on stripping it once it's finished and re-spraying white with gold trimmings.

Some lovely bikes up here, Bianchi Concept is beautiful, that il capo too! Making me wanna upgrade so bad!

    Keep 'em coming!

Inevitably my paranoia got the better of me when locking the Masi around the place, so I built myself another one... not to boast but I think I could probably do it in my sleep at this stage. I needed some help though for crank removal and installation because my right arm is still weak as a kitten. I got some methanol & methylene chloride to remove the paint, to put a new colour on it (suggestions anyone?) which I'll do sometime soon. The frame, forks, & handlebars are scavenged off wrecks; rear wheel & crankset are from my old one which was a write off after the accident.

Nice one (btw was it cheaper to buy the chemicals separately than to buy nitromors?)

I'd be hesitant leaving that Masi anywhere outside a bank vault.

No I bought the same stuff, its just called something else, a different brand name like Polly SuperStrippa, but the same chemicals. I wouldnt know what way to mix them up.

That'll read pretty dodgy on your credit card statements...:)

By the way the Masi is extraordinarily beautiful.

    Hi there,

all great looking bikes!, I've been looking around for similar bikes for the last year but haven't come across anyone who puts bikes together to sell on,
would anyone on here be interested? It would take me about 6 years to get it together!
I'm looking for standard racing bike w/gears 52/54 cm, the nicer the frame the better. Thought I was getting a vintage red puch frame but got duped by seller!

any help/advice out there for a newbie? thanks

sorry, it quite obviously says 'fixie' owners club in the title,

but same applies. I'm looking for a vintage racer seller/assembler in Ireland!

    Thanks
