You know the guy... stayed in the convent, back in Kildare. Do you remember him? Ah, you do! And he was hit by the car when he went down to the shops for the paper. You must remember him? And then he won a hundred pounds with the lottery card? Ah, you must remember him....
And he was accidentally arrested for shoplifting? I remember I had to go down to the police station to get him!... And the police station went on fire? And he had to be rescued by helicopter?
Do you remember him? You can't remember? The helicopter! When he fell out of the helicopter! Over the zoo!
    You don't remember?

Hes always wearing a red jumper?

    So who's Declan Ganley?

The only man (www.Libertas.org) that has the balls AND bite - whom might actually make a difference in this country.

    I'd vote for him tomorrow.

Understandable many could have their doubts given the state and trustworthiness of our politicians today, but even if you still have your doubts, consider that he might just be the best of the worst out there.

We should give him and his organisation at least a chance...
...he can't do any worst than what has gone before! Cowan and co have already fraked everything else all up!

    Its time for REAL change.

Maybe it is. You should have a look out for the paper he wrote called "Constitutional Treaty; A Threat to Democracy and How to Avoid it" for the U.S Foreign Policy Research Institute. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Foreign_Policy_Research_Institute.

Libertas member Ulick McEvaddy is a noted supporter of NATO and Irelands membership of it. He owns Omega Air supplying aircraft for the US military.
    http://integrator.hanscom.af.mil/2006/July/07132006/07132006-16.htm

Many of Omega's ex-Air Force staff may choose to stay in the Air Force's
reserves and could be called up as needed without even changing planes, McEvaddy
said. He said the planes could support combat missions even using civilian
    personnel.

"The old bogey is always how do we know we can rely on you in war?" McEvaddy
said. "Nations don't go to war without the public anyway. If you look at the
historic scenarios - Vietnam, Korea - there were as many civilians in theater as
    there were soldiers."

To illustrate this point, McEvaddy recalled a phone call from his brother, an
accomplished lawyer and pilot who never served in the military, during the first
Gulf War. When queried on how to handle an incoming scud missile attack,
McEvaddy offered the following advice: "I said, make sure the airplanes aren't
in the same place on the ramp and get into the bunker, Des!"

Libertas may be a change alright, but it would be a dangerous change for the country IMO.

Boards has enough who post lies ,conspiracy and plain ol bullsh1t, without the king of spin and misinformation adding to it

I'm genuinely interested, what makes you think he is any different/better than the l33ts?

  • Banned (with Prison Access) Posts: 34,567 ✭✭✭✭Biggins

Well seeing as Cowan is determained to sign us up fully to Europe irregardless of the last vote, I can't say that in that respect, there is much of a difference if that was the case.

...and there was I thinking Libertas was about keeping our country at least a little bit seperate from a faceless power in Europe!
..but thats a different subject and would force this off topic so in this thread will not bore folk with my rubbish lol.

(all I'd really like is at least someone once again to be upstanding, have a powerful voice, commanding and actually take charge and be seen to take charge, of this disheartened country of ours)

Charles Haughtey was crook (and I wouldn't want him back) but he had character, presence and you KNEW he was in charge.
We need his kind back (without the corruption). So far I have seen nothing elsewhere in Fianna Fail/Gael that even comes close. :-(

Makes you go weak at the knees just thinking about it! Some sort of a Michael Collins character no doubt. I'd be very wary voting for someone on the basis of their charisma.

It would seem that the politicians of today are nothing more than a bunch of "managers" particularly as there seems to be no ideology in Irish politics anymore, apart from conservation perhaps. I'd guess it's a by product of the celtic tiger where the main ideology seemed to be the aquisition of holiday apartments in Bulgaria.

If that's true, that's just weird. He hates Fine Gael, and maybe in FG hate him.
