Electrician qualification problem

Just looking for some advice/opinion. My boyfriend got his 4th year electrician exams a couple of months ago but hasn't been able to get work since. Apparently, he needs to do a certain time working full time having completed exams, before he is fully qualified. We're hoping to go abroad for awhile but there's no point unless he has his full qualiification because he won't be able to work. But how is he supposed to get around this if nobody is hiring?? Can he even do the final part of work in the UK or does it have to be here? It seems like a vicious circle.

yeh you have to do like 4months on the job in phase 7 after collage to finish your time. he might be able to head abroad though and get his ma or someone to post them out to him when they arrive.

But how is meant to complete the 4months on the job if he can't get work here? If he did get work say in the UK or somewhere, would the time he did there count toward his last part of the apprenticeship?

A lot of the time the company that you worked for will just fill in the paperwork saying that you've completed phase 7,get him to ask his previous employer to do this and there should be no problem.I'm a sparks.
