Samsung LE37656 - wont repond to remote

i have a 2 week old series 6 that doesnt respond to the remote
the led flashes to indicate that it receives/detects the button presses on the remote, but nothing happens.
oddly enough, it reponds to the power toggle on the remote but nothing else.
i have a harmony 555 and its almost the same thing.
the tv wont repsond to any button presses (led lights up)
it will turn off sometimes using the power toggle, but mostly gets left out of the on/off sequence.
do i just need to press a rest button or is this tv going back to the shop?
