    Hi
I'm looking to get a good powerfull laptop that can handle
photoshop photo editing of 21MP images + RAW files.

I think 21MP high detail JPEG would be about 10MB, and RAW 21MP would
    be around 40MB ?

anyway .. I'd need a large screen (17" for laptop is large?) im thinking id need at
least 4GB of ram for such large images , and maybe a good video card ?

also 500GB hdd aswell ... my budget is around €1,300 .. should that cover it ?

and can people recommend a good make ? preferably not made in China .. but i suppose that's probably impossible these days...

An Apple powerbook would be my first thoughts, there very expensive but you may find a year or 2 old one within budget and you can extend the warranty if you need peace of mind....
I bought an imac for image processing, it's a joy to use...

    something like this might do...

While I wouldn't necessarily agree with Drunkmonkey- it is a reasonable question- do you really need a laptop, or will a desktop do? What you're talking about is fairly heavy number crunching- and the sort of thing that most laptops will take an inordinate length of time to do. A properly spec'ed desktop would be a lot more appropriate for the task.....

If money is no object, a desktop PC and a Cintiq monitor would be the way to go - or a Tablet PC. (Not a "touchscreen laptop" - a real Tablet PC has a pressure-sensitive pen digitizer.) Both allow you to work directly on screen, not via a mouse or graphics tablet.

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

Well for the moment it needs to be a laptop .. i don't have the room for a desktop yet ... i will get a desktop sometime next year when i get a decent apartment...
