was watching team america world police the other night and when I went to go
finish it yesterday it is asking for my pin. can't find the paper the installer wrote
it on. Thing is why would it start doing this now. I've checked some other movies
and they are locked too but can access kiss kiss bang bang from rte2 the other
    night.

Its the last four digits on your viewing card.

You can't turn it off, and its really annoying!

was the night before last and it was around 1 am. why, does it make a difference?

What use is the pin being the last four digits of your viewing card. Kids these days are well brighter than previous generations when it comes to tech stuff. I am aware that you can change your pin but in all honestly how many actually bother ?

Makes slightly more sense than just having a generic 0000 or 1111 though.

AFAIK, it only asks for PIN if the film is an over 15's and you're watching it before watershed (8pm I think with Sky channels)?

If you try to watch them before 8 or 9pm you are asked for a Pin. Watch after that you are not.

I think they've seemingly just thrown out the watershed now, lol.

they're showing 15 rated movies at any time really, and just using the PIN request feature to cover themselves.

No, you set the PIN request guidelines.
Go into Parental Control and adjust the settings to suit your household.

That is because it is Box Office. That is Pay Per View.

I know its Box Office - I paid for it and recorded it. Are all Box office movies Pin protectd even if they're in your planner?

You can definitly turn it off. I found it very annoying and i turned it off under "Parental Control".

    Yes they are.

Also if you ever upgraded a viewing card the PIN is by default the last 4 digits of ORIGINAL card.

If you elect to "hide" the Pr0n channels from EPG, then the PIN can't be disabled.

If your recorder is modern VHS or any other kind of external recorder (I know OP is Sky+, so recording internally), then you usually can't record Skybox office due to Macrovision. One tV set I had couldn't show macrovisioned content properly at all.

Think RTE don't flag their programmes with age ratings, whereas all sky movies channels do.

Only way to disable PIN before 8pm is to completely disable ALL parental controls in the Parental Control menu. Having even just one element of the Parental Control restrictions on will automatically activate the pre-8pm PIN request feature. Same goes for the "Other Channels" menu which has a PIN lock on it if you turn on any element of parental control.

As mentioned PIN is your last four digits of the viewing card, if it doesn't work, sky can remotely reset your PIN if you give them a call.

No way around it before watershed.

Any 15+ movie before the 8pm (SKY) watershed is PIN protected - you CAN'T disable this feature (as byte said).
