In the past few weeks my hair has become very greasy.I have had to wash it twice a day just so I don't look dirty, however the ends are very dry and split.
The problem is I dont have time to wash my hair everyday as I am trying to study for my leaving however going into school wityh greasy hair...Big no no.
I have changed my shampoo several times. I used Pantene, Loreal Elvive, Tre Semme and Simple.
    Anyone any ideas

Use shampoo that is not Opaque, but clear. Like Neutrogena or Herbal Essences where you can see through the bottle.

I think you're causing the excess greasiness by washing your hair too much. Try to resist washing it twice a day, and use a very gentle shampoo if you're washing it every day.
Another thing that would make it greasy is the use of products like gels, serum etc so you need to go easy on these.

Don't touch your hair when it's clean. The oils from your hands will gather on the hair if you keep touching it.

ok on friday, wash your hair and go to school. If you can, avoid washing it for a couple of days and then on monday morning try washing it with timotae for normal hair. My hair is very fine and as such, gets greasy very easily and I find Timotae for normal hair is about the best I can use. I did find that the ones specifically targeted for "Greasy" hair can actually make your hair even greasier, sun silk in particular did this for me.

A shower once a day takes half an hour. That means get up half an hour earlier or start getting ready for bed half an hour earlier. It's not really that bad.

However, this has started in the last couple of weeks and you're currently back to school about 8 weeks and studying for the leaving cert? Relax ;) You could do with the nice hot shower at the end of the day by the sounds of it :)

I have this sort of problem too. Relatively fine hair that's get very greasy very easily. Tis a pain... I use this shampoo.

It is deadly. It's the only shampoo I've found that actually gets my hair really nice and clean and it costs i think €1.65? One of my friends has much thicker hair and loves it. Give it a try, I think it's just the best thing ever!

Edit: Also agree with miss no stars about the shower! If I don't shower in the morning (used to do it everyday before school/college/whatever) I just can't function properly, I needs my clean hair!

Pantene and Herbal Essences are th only ones that stop my hait getting greasy. Loreal Elvive is the worst shampoo that ive ever used, left my hair he smae way as before i washed it, Tresseme wasnt much better. you need to use a lighter shampoo

ALso dry shampoo is brilliant. it will allow you to get another day outta not washing. there are a few differnt brands, the cheapest and some would say the best. is Batiste ( only like 3e in boots). You can get more high end brands too like James Brown, Bumble and Bumble and i think there is a lee stafford ones.

Pantene do one in a clear bottle (clarifying shampoo) to clean excess oils etc out of our hair, I would recommend something like this and then put a dab of conditioner only on the ends to prevent them from drying out. I would also advise that you shampoo your hair twice before adding conditioner.

Used to suffer from this myself

I know I am always saying this but I reckon its due to build up. Mix baking soda with a squirt of shampoo (herbal essences greasy roots dry ends is good), and lather into wet hair. its brilliant gets hair really clean I do it once a week.

oh, and I wouldnt use pantene its full of silicone and causes build up / greasy hair. Makes your hair shiny when you wash it allright but greasy soon after.

oh and john frieda weather works shampoo and conditioner is brilliant

Sounds like you need a hair cut, when my hair needs to be cut it looks dull and flat and gets greasy quicker. Get an inch or two off the ends and you'll be solving both your problems - dry split ends and greasy roots.

My hair tends to get greasy faster when it is short.
Blow drying and straightening keep it fresher longer.
Using boots shampoo as mentioned by fonokpo really sorted the issue out for me.
