What you planning on going as and how are you gonna pull it off?

    Nibbler1.jpg

I'm thinking of putting together a Nibbler costume. Not too sure on how I'll do the head yet but black and peach felt on a tracksuit, a red cape and a white towel for a diaper shouldn't be too hard. Runs well with my home made cartoon costumes of the last couple of years too (Err from Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Pikachu). Maybe this year I'll arrive early enough to actually try and win something :D

I'm going as She-Ra and I'm having my costume hand-made by a lady in the UK. It's costing me €180 but it's the bee's knees and I collect costumes anyway.

I paid €300 last year for a Slave Leia costume!

Too many people going as the now very Cliche Joker, so I thought I'd go as Batman and kick all their asses:

    Batman.jpg

One of my mates is being a little more creative and is going as the Joker dressed in the nurses uniform.

I got it from http://www.thecostumeshop.ie - loads of good ones, 3 days for shipping.

I'd say it'll be the year of loads of people being the Joker and batman alright!

I was thinking a Mermaid myself..don't know how I'd manage to make the costume though! Like this one...http://www.thecostumeshop.ie/costume/mermaid-costume.html

Where can I get me hands on some body paint?

tbh i find the idea of spending money on costumes a bit stupid really. i mean you'll only get one wear out of it as you sure as hell can't wear it next year etc.

myself is either going to be Rick Astley or something i want to keep under wraps for the time being.

I'll spend a bit of money because I like the process of making it and having a really cool home made costume. Over the last 2 yrs, Halloweens become my favourite festival because it means I can get creative... In order to get drunk :D In fact in 1st yr I almost failed an assessment in Art college because I spent 2 days making my Pikachu outfit.

ohh it's a different story if you spend money on materials etc and make your own, that just shows creativity.

i was told last year by someone that they spent 90euro on a jack sparrow costume, feck that like.

What a waste of money! That's a costume that people go as as they have all the bits an pieces at home and have nothing better to go as!

This year I am going to be Alice in Wonderland. I have a blue dress but will need mammy to make me a white apron. I can't wait!

I understand that people buy costumes because they don't have the time to make one or just aren't creative but sometimes I think some of the prices are crazy!!

I have great ideas in my head for costumes but they just don't turn out the way i want them to!

I'd also be annoyed if i'd spent loads on a costume and someone has the same one!

Have you got photo? I really want a slave Leia costume but the quality of them seems to vary. Obviously it would be for next year as it wouldn't be ready for this year which would give me plenty of time for sit-ups. I wish I had just bought the costume two years ago when I had abs from just sitting on the couch eating chocolate. Sigh.

This year is probably going to be a sailor, maybe Alice in Wonderland.

I'm going as superman. But I'm not buying a costume, it's all going to vbe stuff from home. Only I have to find some kind of cape and red paint for my shoes!

Halloween is one of my favourite holidays as well. Love the buzz of dressing up and going to a party.

Dont mind spending upwards of €100 on a costume. Not patient enough to make one myself though.

Did Batman a few years back, and darth vadar last year with the voice helmet. It was cool!

If money was no limit id like to get this:

    scar%20predator%203.jpg

    or...

bit random perhaps but i'm trying to get a captain planet costume together. i really need some help though. Does anyone know where in Dublin or near enough you could lay hands on a bodysuit or jumpsuit or whatever the correct term is for either a full body pair of tights or a torso equivalent, cause then i could just get matching tights. I'm not keen on having to resort to the body paint concept

I'll be going as my well dressed self, being that I am a grown adult with a bit of dignity.

And no sense of fun, clearly. Why bother posting on the thread if you're not into Halloween?

I like Halloween but come on, fancy dress? Thats not very halloween. What happened to dressing up as ghosts and other random 'scary' things.

Brilliant! I LOVE making Halloween costumes. For the head, get a black beanie, and a hairband, and bend some wire (bit off a coat hanger) around the the hairband at the top, and cover it in black insulating tape. Stick it up through the top of your hat and stick a ping pong ball on top of that and draw a black dot on it! Then just get vampire teeth and paint your face et voila!!
Bit of a tip though DO NOT use that waxy oil based black face paint like they have in pound shops or anything. I don't know where you'd get it but get yourself some water based body paint. It goes on really easily and evenly with a sponge and washes off easily too with soap. I had a horrible experience when I dressed up as a toucan... I looked like a miner for days! :)
Anyone know where to get this? I'll need some this halloween too...

I've been trying to get hold of a certain horse mask but everywhere outside the USA has sold out. I don't trust shipping from the USA to get here in time but I really want the mask :( If anyone has one I'd buy it off ye :p

Just noticed this thread and remembered it's only 2 weeks away!! lol. So i need ideas if you all wouldn't mind. And I hope I'm not hijacking the thread. Anyway we all agreed to dress up with a music theme. So anyone got ideas for a costume I could make thats cheap enough (I'll spend whatever it takes but I want one cheap enough) and with stuff that's easily available? thanx
