UK import - registration certs and proof of payment

    Just want to clarify a few things about importing a UK car from a private sale. Could someone tell what documentation is needed? Is it just the V5C registration cert? Thats all thats mentioned here in this link:

    Also who does what with the registration cert? i.e. is it a different procedure for the UK seller than if he was selling in the UK?

    One last thing that was mentioned recently is whether some sort of proof of purchase was necessary for customs. There was a thread recently about this. If the money is being wired what proof of purchase will I have - a dealer may give a receipt but would a hand written receipt be enough from a private sale?
