Cutting weight this week is a bitch.

P.S. I'm not a real person. I got brown at the last grading, don't know if you were watching any of the fights on that mat Mairt? I was the one that had Ippon given against me, taken back and then won with mune

I won my first two, so was finished up fighting fairly early. Had to fight two lads from my own club, nightmare - horrible judo fighting people you train with in competition..

It's Colm, Moskito gi. Gary I'll be there with Derek from Galway that you were chatting after you fought in Tribal Warfare.

What can i say jealousy is a curse :pac:

    just having a kitkat!!!

nah mate i still consider myself as a judoka just not trained it in a good while, in saying that i actually done a class in finglas 3 or 4 weeks ago and it was great...but with all the fights iv had this last yr, and another two coming(Mickey Young on 25th Oct in EFR and Nhang Chan Dara in COT4 on 22nd Nov) so training for MMA is too tough and too intense to compete in Judo aswel, plus no way ill make 66kgs..i walk around over 70 and cut to 65.8kg for MMA but have 24hrs to rehydrate, in judo you have an hour if your light like me:( (always first on:()

Yeah i've had to wind back lately was over doing it and ended up with more poxy doctor and physio visits.

First comp in two years i'm actually dropping to my proper weight for. Was funny weighing in at 93kgs for the closed last year in my clothes. Bombed unbelievally, it was embarassing. So we'll see how 90kgs goes on Sat!

    Great day, some brilliant Judo.

The Portugese were particularly good I thought.

Pingu, I looked out for your Gi but only saw one lad with one and his name was Adam. He fought in the team event at the end of the day.

ALSAA club, yuk I'd give that place a big thumbs down for future events.

I'd a smashing day, great bouts and fantastic crowd.

Ah, just me being a moany bastard. Ignore my rantings, its not bad.

The hall is actually pretty big, big enough to hold three matted area's plus a pretty big warm up area.

I don't have any video or photos to post, I charged batteries for both camera's, finished a nightshift in work, grabbed my gear and legged it out forgetting the batteries.

    Remember any of the results?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 241 ✭✭Pingu

Unfortunately I mised weight :( and got bumped to 100kgs, bombed only winning one, so that's probably why I wasn't spotted. Oh well, roll on the closed.

Fairplay to Adam actually in the Teams, just got the call late and fought really well. Was very intense.

No, sorry. I'd just come off a nightshift and went more or less straight to the competition pretty exhausted.

By the end of the day I was dizzy with tiredness, went to straight back to work!.. Got home this morning, 3hrs rest and over to Andy's for the BJJ open.

I'll be dead on my feet this evening :(

Pingu, you probably wouldn't have noticed me, but I was wearing a maroon coloured Israeli Defence Forces paratrooper T-shirt (Hebrew writing of course).

Since there's nothing as useful as a medals table at that link, it's probably easier to filter out the results from Ciaran Ward's report:

    Report.
