Lights on Bray Head Sunday night.

From my bedroom window I have a great view of Bray head and when going to bed I noticed a white strobe light up in that area. The light then appeared at one point to shine directly into my room. Fascinated I got out the binoculars and tried to identify what I assumed was the coast search and rescue helicopter but could not see the usual red lights you expect on a plane or helicopters.

The light above Bray head would pulse. It would dim then brighten and then it would flash/strobe like red eye reduction on a camera and then disappear but would return again in different patterns, solid then flashing etc. This all lasted about half an hour.

Strange, but I am still convinced it was the coast search and rescue, but I just cant explain the unusual light sequence and the missing red flashing lights you would expect on the tail or underbelly.

The next day in daylight the coast helicopter was actually hovering near to the spot where I had seen the strange light show so maybe someone can confirm what I seen was actually just that, a helicopter.

Any chance it was the Garda helicopter?

There was a rescue conducted there very recently. Sounds like it was a Coast Guard ground Unit popping flares/Flashing vehicle lights from CG/Ambulance.

No chance as there was nothing other than white lights. Flares are very obvious and the emergency services have blue lights so no way was it them. I still think it was the coastguard helicopter but the lights were so odd I viewed the action for some time.
