    Full track here

I wasn't expecting much and it is a bit generic but can't argue with that beat

    Its produced by Scott Storch.

im liking the beat, scott storch is still among the best of them. track would be better if it was anyone other than 50 on it

here it is on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wYJ1FQww8pc

50 does sound a bit boring on the track and i don't feel any real sense of excitment about the album from this particular track at least.

But he sure does get some serious beats for his albums!:D

I'm listening to it now...firstly beat is definately crazy.
50 is rapping so lazily and nonchalant its annoying, T.I would have killed this beat!! No doubt!

the best of who, he's production is generic and boring, most of his tracks sound alike, a piano loop, heavy kick drum and some kind of a synth. he shud of stuck with playing keys for The Roots.

Right - he had some nice stuff on the underrated The Tipping Point.

True its not an original unique sound but i like the beat :p

i like his beats, i know theyre not for everyone but i like how he comes up with everything rather than using samples on every beat. the beats are his own style, wouldnt mistake it for anyone else. thats just me though, diffrent strokes i guess...

Kanye yeah, although I'm a bit concerned with his direction for the new album.

OutKast.... Well, they're just gods really.

Not looking to prove anything, you said mainstream music isn't great these days but "at least we have better artists like Kanye, Outkast". I'm just saying I think 50's new single is better than Kanye's new single. I may be misunderstanding your comment but I think you mean you aren't impressed by Get Up and would rather listen to Love Lockdown?

You're comparing the both of them off 1 single.

Orizio was talking about them as artists. As an artist, Kanye takes a massive dump all over 50.

I'm not saying that at all. I'm saying that Kanye is one of the best popular artists out there...and thats it.

Last year I would have said without any doubt that Kanye beats 50 cent hands down for talent. But this year, after hearing his current single Love Lockdown and 50's "new song", I just can't give credit to either of them. Kanye seems to be trying something different but its gone so horribly horribly wrong I think the album won't get above 70% in reviews.

As for 50, well...50 is 50 and if you like his stuff you might like his new one. I don't. Personally, I think he's still sore that a protege he brought out has wiped the floor and walls with him over 3 albums...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 659 ✭✭✭The-Game

If your talking about Game his 2nd album hardly wiped the floors with anyone, comparing Curtis to LAX however LAX is a hands down winner, i think Curtis had some decent tracks but couldnt hold together well enough, we will see if this is the case with Before i Self Destruct.

The Documentary = Get Rich or Die Tryin'
    Doctors Advocate < Massacre
    LAX < Curtis

GRODT was a good album, Massacre was awful, Curtis was better but still nowhere as good as GRODT. Documentary was brilliant, Ive listened through the whole album countless times and still love every track. Doctors Advocate wasnt as brilliant, but it was still really good, a couple of weak tracks like Wouldnt Get Far and Around The World are the reason I dont think its as good as Documentary. LAX was good but I think two or three tracks (Gentlemens Affair, Never Can Say Goodbye) let it down. 50's last two albums have had maybe 3 or 4 decent songs each - the rest are very forgetable.

The Games 2nd album was Doctors Advocate - which was his best IMO and absolutley wiped the floor with anything 50 released. LAX after a number of listentings would definitely be his worst IMO. There's 4 or 5 good tracks, the rest just get skipped...

Personal taste, i felt the production was superior on LAX to Docs Advocate, seemed to be more filler on D.A then LAX.

Yeah its personal taste. I didn't think DA had that much filler, it was an album I could throw on in the car and not skip one song. Not to mention "Why you hate the game" (one of my fav tracks of the last decade for the beat and hook alone) was not matched by anything on L.A.X. I still cannot listen to L.A.X the whole way through without skipping tracks. I've tried to like those skipped tracks but I just can't...

Why you hate the game is a great song il give you that alright!! So what would be your top 3 from LAX?

Top 3 from L.A.X would probably be State Of Emergency, Money & Letter to the King closely followed by Games Pain. I quite like the beat to Touchdown as well but I think the subject matter just doesn't do it justice. Worst song on the entire album has to be Angel - crap verses and an ultracrap beat.

I like the chilled out Angel with Common, nice flow with the two of them, State of Emergency is a great track, Letter to the King i found to be not the greatest on there, Bulletproof Diaries with Raekwon is one of the best tracks on there as far as the production is great and the way Rae and Game flow together with their lyrics, top notch stuff.

+1 Other rappers should take a leaf out of 50's book - Before Kanyes album comes out he should have his own reality show on MTV where 20 women compete to win his heart. They could call it 'Kanye's Love Lockdown', it will build hype for his album!

Fiddy is putting a lot of effort into this release, as far as i know, you'll get his new movie free when you buy the CD...or is it the other way around?

He has a new movie coming, creatively called "Before I Self Destruct". Maybe the reason you'll get it for free is because no one in their right mind would pay to see it?
