Krakow is nice and pretty cheap too , Bupapest is good too , got a bit more expensive though in the last few years I believe . You can also take a 12 hour train between the 2 of them and spend a few days in each

Personally i would do one of two things.

See what cheap flights you can get from Ryanair and take it from there
    or
Get on to Budget Travel, Falcon etc and see what last minute deals they have. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few good deals at the moment to places like the Canaries, trouble is, w/c 24th October is half term for a lot of kids and the prices of flights and holidays go up.

Why not Barcelona? Flights with Aer Lingus are pretty cheap at the moment and the weather is still pretty warm (compared to here). Websites like bookings.com do pretty good hotel deals.

Not sure about gothenburg kinda thought it'd be too cold?
    could be wrong.
Might try a few of the travel agents for last minute breaks might get something cheap.
Thanks for the input ,keep it coming!
