Just like the football, here's this years hurling rankings based on the same points system

Championship win: 8pts Championship draw 4pts.
Championship win after draw: 4pts Championship draw 4pts.
League Div 1 win: 4pts League Div 1 draw 2pts.

Bonus points: All-Ireland winners :36 pts
    Provincial winners:24 pts League winners:8pts.

    Last years rankings in ()

    1st (1) Kilkenny - 112
    2nd (6) Tipperary - 78
    3rd (2) Waterford - 44
    4th (4) Cork - 40
    5th (9) Galway - 36
    6th (8) Clare - 26
    7th (5) Wexford - 18
    8th (3) Limerick - 12
    9th (7) Offaly - 10
    9th (11) Dublin - 10
    11th (10) Antrim - 4
    11th (12) Laois - 4

PS - Cork's two matches that were forfeited during the NHL count as a victory and 4 points to the opposition. Only matches between the 12 counties count, so Antrim's Ulster win and Dublin's Leinster quarter final win over Westmeath are not included.

Looks about spot on I'd say. Some would probably put Clare ahead of Galway based on the Championship but remember Galway reached the NHL final while Clare scored only 10 points prior to the Championship.

    Thoughts?

Edit - Now it's just struck me, were those matches actually forfeited, or were they replayed? I honestly can't remember! I was going by the results archive on RTE which has no rematches down. Anyone want to shed some light on it and I'll go edit the scores if I'm wrong.

AFAIR they games between Cork and Waterford, and Cork and Kilkenny were forefit. Seems about right, I am suprised that Wexford were 5th last year given that they made 2 national semi finals

By my reckoning Offaly beating Laois in the LHC and Limerick in the subsequent qualifier means they should have 16 points + 2 points for the league draw Vs Galway leaving a total of 18 points.

Dublin beat Antrim in the league 4 pts
Dublin drew with Wexford in the league 2 pts
Dublin beat Wetmeath in Leinster 8 pts
Dublin drew with Wexford 4 pts

18 points, Dublin tie with Wexford.

Read my original post. I didn't include that in the points since Westmeath aren't one of the 12 that compete in the Liam McCarthy Cup.

The first mistake I'm not sure about. I just went by the results listed on rte.ie, so either they didn't list it or I just simply skipped over it by accident. I'll look into it.

Edit - Right you are Jugs, apologies for that. I'll edit the line-up
