    Hey Guys,
Not sure if this is the right place but just looking for suggestions. Started a new job in September - been out with them already and they're great craic. We're heading out for a session in a couple of weeks, fancy dress. Have never been to fancy dress and am just looking for suggestions - since we are going to town I want something relatively attractive, not totally mortifying BUT am out with staff so don't wanna make a bad impression either - have been offered a loan of a wonder woman costume but am scared it will be a bit too flashy - any ideas what i could go for that will be cute without being trashy or too in your face????

The wonder woman thing is done by every second girl in ireland! I think if ya don't wanna stand out go for it! I also think if you have a costume that you made yourself or looks a bit different more people will come up and ask ya about it...and you might get chatting to more people in your work :)! I have just thought of a few off the top of my head, which would be easy to make and kinda cute too. A genie, Cleopatra, a hula girl, a pirate (you can actually buy black eye patches with the elastic string in chemists!)or a bumble bee...if ya have a yellow and black strippy top, make some antena and your good to go! :P

Yeah that would be my view on WW too - it's well overdone - - I found a cute little Alice in Wonderland one, seen a bumble bee, a ladybug ( there's a cool website from Ireland - cheap enough) Not a chance I can make my own but would buy one if I find something that looks the part without making me look like a total sap! :D

Is that the all leather suit thing?

na i wanna look cute (coz we are going to town to drink) but not OTT (Coz we are going to celebrate mid term - teachers - and its a week too early so most ppl won't be as dressed up as us) Like I don't even mind a little skirt/dress just not some pornstar outfit - - am browsing sites here but just nothing jumping at me - - how can u do sexy yet appropriate ;)

I want something cute and sexy without being trashy and slutty - man it is so hard to do - scared to leave it incase i can't get anything .. ha ha drama - how can a work do be so much hassle :D

A kitty cat! Wear sexy black clothes, really high heels, and then with the help of eye liner make whiskers and colour in the tip of your nose. You'll get ears easy enough.

I'm going to a work fancy dress next weekend. I'm going as a pirate.
Wearing leggings, knee high black boots, long white shirt with some chains and a scarf around my hips, long gold necklace, dangly gold earrings, messy hair, loads of eyeliner. Minimum effort, maximum impact. (I hope.)

    Avast me hearties!

This will sound quite boyish but it isnt! A few years back i dressed as a female pilot...tight black skirt to the knee, fitted white shirt buttoned down as revealing as you want :P with the stripes/wings on the shoulders (navy and yellow ribbon), pilots hat (i had a navy plain one and put a yellow ribbon around hte front), black stilletos, fish nets etc! I was actually Captain of the Mile High Club but ye dont have to do that bit if its a bit ott for work. It was a class outfit and i felt great would recommend it!

your best bet for picking costumes is log onto a fancy dress website.
the magic shop in limerick has pictures on their site.

If you are going out with people you work with, I would advise against dressing like a tart.
