    Hi all,

Ive stupidly misplaced my passport. No bigee i guess cos im home now but wanting to travel to UK from time to time. Ryanair mention accepting a EEA issued National Identity Card as ID; however i thought this was the age card and was proven wrong.

Can anyone fill me in on what im missing? Ive checked citzens info and all. How do i get a National ID card? I dont see the point in spending another €70-80 on passport since i dont intend going beyond the UK for some time.

Any help as always appreciated :pac:

Some other EU and EEA countries have mandatory requirements for their citizens to possess a National I.D. card, but the UK (and hence Ireland) don't have such a requirement. But when London decides to introduce one, rest assured our government will do likewise. So the answer if your Irish is- you can't.

Check out Ryanair's T&Cs. A driving licence should be sufficient (if you are an Irish or British citizen travelling between Ireland and the UK).
For British and Irish citizens who are travelling on flights to/from the United Kingdom, to/from the Republic of Ireland (Common Travel Area), a valid driving licence with photo is acceptable photo ID.
