    9-5 the week

    32-25 since the start (.567)

Cincinnati - Have got to win some time.
New Orleans - McFadden was probably pretty happy he got to wear a cool uniform, but they're a pack of messers in Oakland.
Tampa Bay - Get Griese out of there, get Garcia in, get back to being an efficient offense.
St. Louis - No I'm only joking, the Redskins will mince the Haslett Rams. Get a real head coach in at the off-season, see if any of the vets will go in trade for draft picks and start building a real team again, STL.
Indianapolis - Just a good team, same reason I always pick them.
Miami - Who thought Miami would show up? An efficient QB, a good running game and a pass rush can make a .500 team. Doesn't need to be spectacular.
Minnesota - Frerotte isn't the answer at QB, but he just needs to be solid.
Chicago - Kyle Orton is playing well by accident, I guarantee it. But the Bears are still better.
    Jacksonville - Don't like Denver.
Green Bay - Seahawks are dire, in Holmgren's last season. A pity, but the truth.
Philadelphia - Don't write off Philly yet. Keep 5 healthy and this will be a playoff team even if they're in the best division in football.
Arizona - I hate the Cowboys. They're the Abramovich Chelsea of American football.
New England - This is a big, big one. Chargers to stop being considered elite with one too many losses.
New York Giants - Ahem. 16-0? Anyone?

No chance, they're good, but they're not 2007 Pats good (ok I see the flaw in what I just said, but you know what I mean :pac:)

Theres no way they can do it out of their division, they have to beat the Redskins again, the Eagles twice and the Cowboys to go unbeaten. Not likely.

I really expected them to miss Shockey, Strahan etc. a lot more than this. They're doing well but they'll lose a few games yet. (4 or 5)

Yeah I was only messing obviously. They do look good though, best in the NFL so far in my opinion. It's them or the Titans, record-wise, and the Titans really look like the ones most likely to drop games against non-elite teams I think.

CIN @ NYJ All should be well in Jersey coming off the bye week. This is a perfect time to face Cinn, they are a mess.
OAK @ NO The Raiders have been close in a few games, but their problem has been in the passing game - which is NO's weakest point. Apart from their poor secondary, NO are pretty good and I can see them playing tough until they are out of playoff contention. The Raiders should get progressively worse as the season goes on and the matches become less important.
CAR @ TB Tampa have severe problems at the QB position and Carolina have been very good thus far this year.
STL @ WAS Will Saint Louis win a game this year? Not this week anyway.
BAL @ IND The Colts are bad, bad this year. They were outplayed last week and it's a loss if Sage just slides, the idiot. Their inability to stop the run should allow Baltimore to keep the pressure off Flacco. Add that to Baltimore's dominating defense and this is an away win.
    MIA@ HOU **** Houston imo.
    DET @ MIN lol Detroit.
CHI@ ATL Man, Atlanta got a good win last week. Ryan is exceeding all reasonable expectations for a rookie thus far. However, Chicago are coming off two consecutive wins and are reminiscent of their superbowl team from a couple of years ago. I'm buying them a little bit.
JAC @ DEN Denver cannot stop the run. That fact should give the Jags the balance they need here. Look, the Jags are a good team and their losses have been tough ones against decent teams. I still think they have a part to play in the postseason. A couple of bounces here and there and Denver could have a losing record.
GB @ SEA This one is a coinflip. GB have been struggling to make plays consistently on defense and Ryan Grant has regressed somewhat. SEA are not good though and are coming off a demoralizing loss.
PHI @ SF Westbrook might have broken ribs. With a healthy McNabb and Westbrook, Phi are legit. This happens every year though - must suck to be an Eagles fan. However, despite better than expected play from O'Sullivan, SF haven't put all the pieces together over the past couple of weeks and the Eagles should have enough to win.
DAL @ ARI My upset special. :pac: Dallas have looked poor the past two weeks, and Arizona moved the ball really well against the Bills on Sunday. Home advantage will help and Warner should really test a bad looking Dallas secondary. Could be high scoring.
NE @ SD San Diego need this and home advantage is pretty important here (Pats stayed on the West coast this week and that strategy didn't pay off for Arizona two weeks ago). Overall on SD, they need to bring more aggressiveness and pressure from Ted Cottrell and the defense and the entire coaching staff seems culpable for their underwhelming performance thus far. They are still in contention though and loaded with talent - so I like them here.

NYG @ CLE Cleveland have really mismanaged the QB position poorly imo. Anderson has been awful thus far, and they should have yanked him before or during the Cinn game. That they won there, had an awful lot more to do with Palmer going down for the Bungles. Anderson was shocking. So, instead of giving Brady Quinn a nice ease in game and a byeweek to work with - he will probably be thrown in at the deepend here when they are already down a few TDs and the crowd has been chanting "Brady, Brady, Brady" for a couple of quarters. I wonder if Anderson cares though? After all, he has got paid already. And is making far more money than he could have dreamt of when he was battling for the number 3 slot on the roster before the start of last season.

CIN @ NYJ - Favre to continue throwing for fun
OAK @ NO - Oakland are not good, Saints should have it easy
CAR @ TB - I like the Panthers, good running and passing games, Bucs dont look that great
STL @ WAS - Redskins look great, this should be a banker
BAL @ IND - Last weeks comeback to boost the Colts and get them on a run
MIA @ HOU - I know the Dolphins are doing well and the Texans are 0-4 but they have to win some time.
DET @ MIN - Lions look awful
CHI @ ATL - Bears D looks close to its best and Orton on form should win it
JAC @ DEN - Broncos are starting to shake a little, Jags defense might trouble them
GB @ SEA - Reckon Seahawks receivers will swing it their way
PHI @ SF - Eagles should be too strong for 49ers
DAL @ ARI - This should be good open game. Cowboys to sneak it
NE @ SD - Chargers are hit and miss, if they can contain Moss then they should have enough offense to win it
NYG @ CLE - I know the Giants are 4-0 but their schedule hasnt exactly been difficult and its the same here. Should win easily.

    10-4

One too many here, only 74 games played so far. You're probably including the Texans Ravens game that was postponed in Week 2

Dont think the mistake is from that week, will have to go through them and see where I made the error. Thanks for clarifying total.

CIN @ NYJ 1:00 PM - Cincy suck
OAK @ NO 1:00 PM - bush will run all over the saints. Brees will have trouble against our secondary. bush will struggle in the run game. If we can actually play 4 ****ing quarters we should be fine. the fact we have the best punter in the league is a huge bonus against the saints too.
CAR @ TB 1:00 PM - Panthers too take command of the division.
STL @ WAS 1:00 PM -lolrams
BAL @ IND 1:00 PM - Baltimore will win if Mcghee is fit and last the whole game.
MIA @ HOU 1:00 PM - phins for the superbowl?!
DET @ MIN 1:00 PM - Even the raiders could beat detriot.
CHI @ ATL 1:00 PM - close one, but the bears should have enough
JAC @ DEN 4:05 PM- huge match for jags, i really hope they win
GB @ SEA 4:15 PM - both teams suck.
PHI @ SF 4:15 PM - eagles lose and their season is over. probaly already is.
DAL @ ARI 4:15 PM - easy win for dallas
NE @ SD 8:15 PM - I hope both teams lose.

CIN @ NYJ 1:00 PM - The Jets but only by a score I reckon.
OAK @ NO 1:00 PM - Saints need a win, they'll get it.
CAR @ TB 1:00 PM - Close one to call. I'm going for the upset.
STL @ WAS 1:00 PM - Redskins have been great so far. They can continue that here.
BAL @ IND 1:00 PM - The Colts to restore some pride by beating a spirited Ravens team.
MIA @ HOU 1:00 PM - 3 straight for the Dolphins? Who'da thunk it?
DET @ MIN 1:00 PM - Peterson to run riot.
CHI @ ATL 1:00 PM - Atlanta have gotten themselves together. I think they'll take the bears.
JAC @ DEN 4:05 PM- Too close to call. Pushed to say the Broncos but it could easily be the Jags.
GB @ SEA 4:15 PM - Please, please win this game Packers.
PHI @ SF 4:15 PM - Philly are certain to win this one.
DAL @ ARI 4:15 PM - By no means a foregone conclusion. If Warner can find his receivers and rack up the numbers he's posted this season then they might just but another dent in the Dallas machine.
NE @ SD 8:15 PM - San Diego's season ends Sunday!

    Monday, Oct 13
NYG @ CLE 8:30 PM - Giants to stay perfect thusfar.

Theres a lot of tough games this week that could go either way. Its not an easy week to pick winners.

CIN @ NYJ While the Bengals scared the Cowboys last week, they have injuries all over the field and Favre has had an extra week to get used of this offense. Looks good for the Jets.

OAK @ NO The Saints defense stopped the run last week but thats the first time they managed to do that this season. The Raiders offense needs to run the ball. The Raiders Defense needs to improve against the pass but Brees has thrown 7 interceptions this year. The Saints threw it away last week and the Raiders have been poor in the fourth quarter all season so far. Basically its the no.1 passing offense against the no.3 rushing offense. I dunno what way to go, I think the Raiders might just take this one.

    CAR
@ TB The Panthers have been excellent so far and it must continue here against a terrible Bucs defense. The Panthers D has been excellent and theres no way that either Griese or Young gets it done against them. Carolina by a wide margin.

STL @ WAS The Redskins will win this by 24 or more.

    BAL
@ IND The Colts cannot stop the run, the Ravens are one of the top rushing offenses in the League. The Ravens have the best Defense in the League and the Colts have a high powered passing offense that has not clicked into full gear this year. My gut tells me Indy will take this one, my head tells me its a runaway win for the Ravens. I will go with the latter. Ravens win.

    MIA
@ HOU I have been really impressed with the Dolphins over the last two games. I see them as viable contenders for the AFC with this new offense and the improvements in their D. Dolphins for me and by a wide margin against a team that has struggled against the run. Ronnie Brown to have another big day here.

DET @ MIN The Lions are going to do it one of these weeks but the Vikings have too much for them and can get keep the pressure on the Bears and Packers in the NFC north with a win here.

CHI@ ATL Ryan seems to be improving every week but he faces a tough time this week against the Bears Defense. However on the other side of the ball the Bears offense are not great and Kyle Orton has still not convinced me. I go for the Cardinals to continue win yet again at home.

JAC @ DEN The Broncos Defence has been terrible, the worst against the pass and not much better against the run. Their offense has been humming though and they are fun to watch. Last week the Steelers were without any decent running back and Big Ben threw too many good passes against he Jags. Denver are better offensively than the Steelers and I see them scoring enough to beat the Jags.

GB@ SEA If the Seahawks had a semi competent D I'd back them here but they don't and that means the Packers have a chance in this game. The problem for the Packers is that they give up far too many yards against the run so Julius Jones will have another big day and now with Branch are Engram both back in the fold I expect to see more from this Seahawks offense. Two bad Defenses and I'm going with the home team.

    PHI
@ SF Hard to believe that these two teams have identical records but when you look at it more closely and realise that the Eagles have lost to the Cowboys, Redskins and Bears and you get a clearer picture. The Eagles can stop the run and that leaves the 49ers in a lot of trouble. Easy win for the Eagles with or without Westbrook.

    DAL
@ ARI Dallas got beat two weeks ago and looked a little shaky last week before coming out on top against the Bengals. This is different, the Cardinals will bet demolished here.

NE @ SD I thought long and hard about this game. Of course I'm liable to be biased and I had to take a step back. I'm also a natural worrier when my own team are involved and was thinking that the Chargers could well come out like they were last season in this game. However when you get down to it, the Pats looked a lot better last week and they seem to have more to offer than the Chargers who have looked extremely poor so far this season. I think it could be close enough and its dangerous to write off the Chargers but I gotta go with the Patriots. We've only lost one game and Cassel looked a lot better last week. LT has done nothing this season and as long as that continues the Chargers are not going to win.

NYG @ CLE Palmer has struggled but now Donte Stallworth finally gets his chance to show what he can do. Unfortunately for the Browns its the wrong week for his return as they face a team that looks much stronger than the Superbowl winners last year. The Giants have been impressive and surely the return of one good wide receiver will not take the Browns withing striking distance of probably one of the two best teams in the league. Giants but not as easy as they have had it of late.

As far as sports bets go, I see two teams that should definitely cover this week and thats all. The Redkins and the Panthers look solid to me. I have not looked at the spreads yet but I'd take the Panthers up to -12 and the Redskins -20.
I think Miami win big too but I leave them out of the picture as they still need a game or two more of what they have been doing to become a viable betting opportunity.

As above-some tough calls-against the spread for sure!

CIN @ NYJ 1:00 PM Cincy showed up against 'Jersey A' and the Cowboys, and if they had a QB would have beaten the Browns, but now Palmer may be out again, so home win for 'Jersey B'
OAK @ NO 1:00 PM NO blew it big time on Monday night, and Oakland has been playing hard lately, but stil...NO also looks like it gets Marques Colston back for this one.
CAR @ TB 1:00 PM Tough call. Garcia will have something to prove (again!). I'll take the home team by a field goal or less.
STL @ WAS 1:00 PM Only 2 questions for me-will the Skins cover 13.5 and will Campbell turn the ball over? Washington was mighty impressive last week.
BAL @ IND 1:00 PM Baltimore will run all day on the Colts, but I don't think they have faced an offense with as much potential as Indy's yet.
MIA @ HOU 1:00 PM TheTexans should have won last week. They should have a plan for dealing with 'The Wildcat'.
DET @ MIN 1:00 PM Easy.
CHI @ ATL 1:00 PM Interesting game-both teams have been a surprise, but I like the Bears defense over the rookie QB.
JAC @ DEN 4:05 PM I'm going to say that the Jags pass rush gets going this week and that MJD and FT run all over the suspect Broncos defense.
GB @ SEA 4:15 PM Yikes. The Seahawks were pretty poor last weekend, even with some of their starters back. Still, they have to get it on at home. An ugly enough game.
PHI @ SF 4:15 PM Philly is a bit of a mess-that collapse (of sorts) against Washington, McNabb's rant, and key/star payers missing through injury, but they really need this game and their defense is still pretty good. Eagles by a field goal.
DAL @ ARI 4:15 PM This could be a shootout. Will the Cowboys get back on track after a loss and a near miss?
NE @ SD 8:15 PM Signs that Cassel and Moss were on the same page last week.

    Monday, Oct 13
NYG @ CLE 8:30 PM Winslow is a doubt for the Browns.

    Last week 10-4
    Overall 50-26

Jets making a meal of Cinn. Favre looking uncomfortable yet again with 1TD and 2 picks - 10 mins left in the 4th.

The raiders look SHOCKING. I mean that. Really bad. I would expect the line and recievers to quit on JaMarcus Russell pretty soon. Brees looking awesome however.

Also, Matt Ryan could be the real deal.

Watched the first quarter of Colts/Ravens and there was no doubt what way it was gonna go so switched over to Dolphins/Texans and what a game. The wildcat worked early but when it stopped working Pennington stepped up and won the game for Miami.
A last minute straight double on Atlanta and Miami has saved my @ss.

Some of the results were shocking, how the fcuk can the Redskins manage a loss to the Rams? Its beyond me.

And Garcia was back for Tampa, didn't know that, I thought he was out for another two games at least. Its clear from the stats that the Panthers could not stop the run today.

Anyways gone big on the Cowboys to cover to try and get a profitable week. This year has been cruel so far for me. After the last two years it was bound to happen. So here I am depending on a team that I absolutely abhor to win money for me. I probably will be shouting against my money.

Edit to add, as they say you learn something new everyday, and today I learned that Chad Pennington is the all time leader in pass completion percentages.

??? Houston actually won the game by 1. I had them @ -3 and when the intercepted Pennington late on, I thought they would cover, but the defender fumbled and Pennington recovered.

Exactly. The spread on that game actually came in from 13.5 to 11. WTF? Campbell had a fumble returned for a touchdown.

I was amazed that Minnesota was favoured by nearly 2 touchdowns.

You should have read my predictions ;)

I won on Jersey B and the Saints to cover. I have gone big on the Pats @ -6 to put me over the top (I lost on the Skins and Texans)

Wtf at the Redskins losing at home to St Louis.

And some sick finishes to the early games - particularly Atl / Chi and Hou / Mia.

Jeebus, I knocked off the game between Miami and Houston when they intercepted with less than a minute left, how the fcuk did they lose that. As it turns out I mistakingly backed the spread on them two games so got very very lucky.

This Dallas/Arizona game is the sickest of all time, every error, mishap and possible fcuk up has happened. The latest in case you don't know is the Cards coach calling timeout to freeze the kicker as the Cowboys are just about to kick to tie the game, the kick is taken and blocked but as there was a timeout it gets taken again and put over from 51 yards.

A fitting way for that game to end. Blocked punt by the Cards and they get the touchdown. LMFAO

So thats two out of three NFC East teams beaten by NFC West/Worst teams and the other one got a big scare before getting it done.
    WTF???

The Cardinals beat the Cowgirls in overtime anyhoo. I guess the football gods have balanced things out in the end.

The Atlanta kicker had a truly shocking FG attempt to put the game to bed before Chicago came back with that late touchdown.

I'd say he's a relieved man that he got a second chance in the dying seconds and nailed the longer, harder 48 yard attempt to steal it for the Falcons.

Nice to see the Colts win their first game in the new stadium and for them not to be involved in a nail biting finish for a change. Holding the Baltimore running game to 3 points is a huge step forward for the Colts.

    WTF???

The NFL is bollocks for the sports bettors amongst us. It really is a case of every team being capable of beating every team on any given Sunday. No more NFL betting for me, thankfully Arizona got me out of it for the past two weeks - but it required a heart attack before they did.

Also, for the pick'ems, I'm just going to randomly select from either columns for the next four weeks and see how I do percentage wide compared to what I have been doing. Trying to predict games in this league is a waste of our time.

And, as such, American football is the greatest thing that ever existed. :)

He's been okay. Not as good as last week but he's not being protected. Has tried a couple with Moss, hasnt worked out yet but I have a feeling he has a some good throws left in him. I hope.
