I am just after upgrading my HTPC To a 3ghz core2duo, 9800GT, and OCZ 6400 Ram, hooked up to z-5500 etc, the htpc is going to be mainly used to x264 and wil be using coreavc.I would like people views on which Vista they reckon is better XP MCE(which i have been using) or should i go for Vista MCE? Any thought, i no its depends on each perfect but would like to hear pros and cons.

vista mce, mce2005 looks way too old at this stagee and to me anyways, eye candy is a part of a media centre, and mce2005 doesnt have that. There is plenty of great plugins now for vista mce such as mytv and openmedialibrary for movies, check thegreenbutton forums for more info.

I switched from XP MCE 2005 a long time ago , Vista MCE ( only comes with home premium and ultimate) makes much better use of the screen real estate and just looks better , and as Kaisersoze77 says , the plugins are brilliant.
