    are o2 xda's any good as a phone?

    Yes / no / maybe.

    It all depends what you want them to do. If you just wanna make calls and send texts then they are very slow, bulky and bloated if that's the question you're asking. Otherwise give more info.

    Xda refers to a range of phones... there are many different ones.
    Of course O2 Ireland only has 1 or 2 of the range at any time... and they often only release phones about a year after O2 in other countries.
    The best ones are those based on the HTC Touch Diamond and the Touch Pro... but don't expect O2 to release them as they'd eat into iPhone sales.
    If you want a good Windows Mobile phone you'll have to buy it on a site like expansys unfortunately.

    the original xda , i think, one of the first o2 had, like would it stand any chance in specs comparisson against todays smart/pda phones
