    Hi guys,

Basically im getting a new laptop and im thinking of getting the Rme fireface + Cardbus. And at the moment i only have money for the laptop and cardbus.

And im wondering is it possible to use the Rme Cardbus as a standalone soundcard (for use internally on cubase) or does it need the Rme Fireface to function.

    Thanks in advance!

You only need the card bus for the digiface or multiface. The card bus is solely for connecting these to the computer and is not a soundcard.
The fireface connects directly to your firewire port.
