    Im flying to Paris on the 24th or 25th (not sure which yet) and I want to get the TGV to Poiters which runs almost on the hour from Charles De Gaul. Was wondering if you have to make a reservation or can you buy a ticket on the day, anybody any experience of such?

    You can buy on the day. You can even buy on the train as long as it's you that goes to the ticket inspector and now the other way around. Getting a train in rushhour will probably mean you'll be standing.

    Theer's no harm in buying a ticket for the 24th and then changing it in any train station in Paris if you need to travel on the 25th instead (depending on the ticket restrictions).*

    PREMS = non-exchangeble.
    LOISIR = exchangeble up to the day before you travel.

    It's also possible to reserve a ticket on-line without paying for it which is held for 7 days before you either pay or discard it.

    You could, on Oct 18th, reserve a ticket for the 24th and for the 25th, and decide which one to take during the following week.
