Comag HD and ITV

    Hi,

    A friend purchased the Comag HD-S CI100 from Maplins last week.

    He tuned in BBC HD and I showed him Luxe HD also. The picture looks great. His TV allows for picture in picture, so it displayed the BBC HD channel thru scart and also HDMI side by side and the difference was incredible. Anyway...

    Obviously now that he has heard of ITV HD, he would like to tune it in. Has anyone managed to do this yet on the Comag? Information on the web is rather scarce. I can't find a way to manually edit the pids for a channel like I can on my Strong 6355.

    To be honest, I only spent 15 minutes looking at the thing and gave up. The manual itself was no help.

    So, if anyone has any info on how to manually change the pids or on how they got ITV HD to work, I would really appreciate it.

    believe ITV HD is only available via the red button

    Hi Breaux,

    ITV HD is broadcast in such a way that Sky cannot see it but depending on which FTA receiver you have, ITV HD can be tuned in.

    A new firmware is available for the Fortec Passion and should enable you to watch ITV HD.

    There's an editor tool on Comag.de which might allow you to change PID's etc.

    ITV HD is broadcast in a different format(H.264) to all other HD channels (MPEG4). As long as your box can view H.264 you tune to 11426 H 2/3 27500 with manual PID of 3401 you'll be fine. SkyHD boxes don't have H.264

    SkyHD does support H.264, the video format on ITV HD is exactly the same as the other HD channels. The difference is that it is only detected as an audio stream with no video PID specified so you have to manually add the VPID. (which is what SkyHD can't do)
