    Has anyone downloaded the map packs? If so, are they any good? Just asking because with CoD5 on the way, will the CoD4 multi-player fall by the way-side a bit?

    I doubt it, I think alot of gamers have had enough of the WW2 setting and weapons. I'd be suprised if WaW will top IW's modern warfare in multiplayer or even single player for that matter.

    Bring on CoD 6.

    Id say definatly download the maps. They are good and they bring something new to the game.

    The maps are OK, but... there nothing special.
    I was in the same predicament as yourself as too buy the maps but luckly enough i lost my cod4 and nephew bought the goty version with maps included.:D

    Most of the time only 2 of the maps are usually used (sniper one and chinatown)
    And i find myself prefering the old maps..

    I'd advise putting that money towards a psn game (wipeout had maybe?) or holding out for one of the following being released in next month

    -Resistance 2 --> 60 player online,8 player co-op
    -COD:Waw --> co-op, new perks, new maps(will sell ALOT imho)

    Cod4 will start to wind down with these 2 fps coming out and being well recieved by people who have played both.

    @Captain Chaos-
    I thought the same as yourself man, but after looking at some previews and the perk list I expect this to sell very well.
    Most peoples problems where to do with Treyarch making the game but this is IW engine being used;)

    I dunno.COD4 has faced off the likes of MGS online and GTA online and is still very popular.It remains to be seen whether these games will fare any better against it.I havent played Resistance b4 so I cant comment on that.I have seen some vids of COD5 and I agree it looks promising.I think that even if they do well there will still be a lot of people playing COD4-certainly enough to find a game imo.So OP it all really depends if you see yourself playing COD4 into the future.If you do then Id say get the maps.After all theyre only something like 10 euro,maybe even cheaper now.
    As for the maps theyre a bit of a mixed bag.There are 4 maps in the pack,Broadcast,Killhouse,Creek and Chinatown,of which my favourite is Broadcast.It contains the TV studio you enconter in the "Charlie dont surf" mission within the game plus some area outside the studio.Creek and Chinatown are alright but nothing special.The former is popular with snipers and the latter with campers because of the many buildings and alleys.Killhouse is a tiny map which is based on the training level in the game.AFAIK it can only be played on Team Tactical and Cage matches because of its size.
