C+C - First pictures on Manual setting

Thanks to all who gave me advice for taking photos at a christening recently - would love to post up some of the pictures but not sure about posting pictures of people and especially kids online without their permission.

I went out and took my first photos on Manual setting on my DSLR a few weeks ago as well. I had taken similar ones on automatic over the last few years here. After a brief hiccup (iso 800 on the sunniest day for months) I think I got the hang of it. Was just trying to capture the sense of loneliness of the old statues in Kilmainham Hospital gardens as modern life looms over them, and the happiness of the new statues. The last time I posted photos of the gardens it was suggested that they weren't "of" anything so I tried to work on that.

    C+C appreciated.

My own opinion - I like the framing in all 3, and the lines in the 3rd. I like that I got the Hare's facial expression. But maybe the subjects are too centred, and I failed to get the focus on the discarded flowers on the 1st statue. The exposure seemed to come out ok for a first attempt at manual.

Well done - colours are great. I really like them although I would go a little tighter on the crop of the second one but they are great and as you said the lining works.

Thanks to both of ye for the feedback - I really feel like I am making some progress, especially since I started reading "Understanding Exposure" as recommended to me here. Using manual feels so much more interesting too - as if I am actually taking photos rather than letting the camera do it.

Just need to find the time to get out with the camera more.
