Duddy called out by Angulo !

Dont know if anybody was tuned in late saturday night, but Alfredo Angulo stole the show with a Margarito-like performance against Tsurkan .
A relentless slug-fest , he looked invincible , with a granite chin and brute strength.

It was commented that he will strictly be lined up against fighters that like to stand trading , or come forward trading..... as this style suits Angulo.

Today I read that he has called out Duddy , and that would be some match-up , as Angulo says he will move to midddle-weight to face Duddy.

Angulo's place is light middle , so the punching power will be very similar against Duddy, who is slightly small for 165lbs.

Ill price this up as a 4/1 or 5/1 chance for a Duddy victory (at 165lbs)

Id give Duddy 30 seconds before been dragged into a slugfest if thats the case!!! He needs to prove himself against someone better than Charles Howe that he can box and not get dragged into a slugfest.
Speaking of his next fight its November 6th and no opponent announced which is a shame.
I hope Duddy makes 154 easy, comes in better shape and is relatively stronger. Itd be good to have an Irish world champ.

I saw his fight on saturday as well, as oddjob said his chin made of iron and as a result he just keep coming at you like Margarito no matter what you hit him with. As well as that he hits slightly harder than Duddy.
So, I think Angulo would beat Duddy by a tko if they fought.

I've seen him fight a few times. He is good, but I think Duddy would take him.

He actually is a sparring partner for margarito , and the style development shows too.
P4P he is bigger puncher than Duddy , but duddy is naturally 7lbs heavier.

Angulo is somethinfg similar to Baby Bull Diaz , there is no one punch KO , but rather endless quantity of solid shots that wear the opponent down.
Everybody apart from the ref and tsurkan's corner were screaming for the bout to be stopped, he was just barely able to sustain the attrition , but just wouldnt go down.

If it ever materializes , Duddy v Angulo would be something spectacular , and leave everybody on the edge of their seats.

Duddys next fight is moved to November 21st. The card also features 2 or 3 highly ranked / prospect light middleweights and middleweights. I had forgotten Joe Green moved to 154. Wonder will himself and Duddy ever throw fists?

Sam Hill, interesting and surprising choice imo.

Hill's record looks ropey but he's not that bad and very "durable" - took Demers the distance and Demers is very comparable in terms of level to Duddy.

What I think is most interesting is that Hill is a Super Middle so I cant see the fight being at LM which is where we thought Duddy was going

He's been stopped by Freddy Cuevas who Duddy looked pretty good beating Cuevas over two years ago, so while a soft touch was expected this is a bit much for me.

I can't really see how this will benefit Duddy other than helping to pay the bills and maybe building his profile back up slightly after the Smichet fight.
The Howe fight for me was a bit pointless aswell, yes Duddy boxed more but Howe wasn't even close to being able to test Duddy in any area. He was just a nice record that was meant to be a nice stoppage win for Duddy after the Smichet fight and to have him as a 'new man' now that he'd be boxing more.

I really hope John can get the Ronald Hearns fight as I've never really rated Hearns and I think he's made his name off of his father. That would be a fight that would most likely result in a title shot should he win too.

Angulo is fighting Craig McEwan btw, McEwan's a good prospect but his camp have obviously gone insane. He won't be able to outbox Angulo for 10 and in truth is probaably going to take a battering while getting stopped. There's ambition and then there's insanity.

I guess Duddy's camp is looking for an impressive knockout, with which they can use to launch a campaign for a title shot.
