Why is anyone giving her air time? What has she done to warrant it?

She is just trading off of daddy's reputation. As said if you do enough of them you need never do any real work.

You mean she's on without having a product (preferably an rte tv series) to plug? Shocked I am, shocked. :(

She came across fine but the accent and the constant use of "like" made her seem like a dimwitted californian girl. Never mind she has no talent to speak of. Fair enought she writes a column and supposedly designs...If her surname wasn't Geldof she wouldn't get the time of day.

To the disappearing post, Yes I am from Cork ergo it takes a lot of "likes" to get my attention. She did it in spades like !!

What ? Please point out the begrudery ? There is a difference between thinking someone is a bit of a toolbag and begrudgery.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 182 ✭✭jane86

I don't think she came across very well at all. Espiecially the comment of having to come ALL the way from London (2 hr plane ride?) to see family over here.

She came across kind of American wannabe and I could imagine her as a D4 head.

Aren't the Seoige's the prettiest Irish women on telly?

What a condescending little bint, no talent at all, lives off her fathers name and thinks being from London is the be all and end all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,614 ✭✭✭Rineanna

Ryan hit the nail on the head when he said to her that she sounded like an American Tourist when she was describing her times in Ireland; she used every Irish cliché in the book: Guinness, Bono, Blarney Stone, etc.
    Actually, she didn't mention potatoes....
I'm not really bothered by her, but I agree with a previous poster who said she was very London-centric.

    As For Anna Faris...
She was the only reason I was watching the show. I absolutely loved her in Just Friends and My Super Ex-Girlfriend and was expecting a good interview, but found her awfully dry. Very dissapointed with it. :(

I thought she was a condescending little bint. "The thing about London is, it's so big they don't get excited about celebrities like over here". That's her excuse for acting the madam with House of Fraser who had paid her to come over for their relaunch. Wagon!

And all the stuff about the Blarney stone - please.

I heard she tried to get into a male only gay night and was politely refused by the owner of the club. Delighted for her.

And it's not begrudgery - I just agree with the others who say that if she wasn't the daughter of Geldof and Paula Yates, she'd be working away in college now with whatever talents she actually possesses

That was a quote she made to Tubridy to explain why she legged it from House of Fraser. In that the Irish papps wouldn't leave her alone cos it was so unusual for them to have a 'celeb' in town. Had it been Britain, they would have been much more cool about it. Or so she bullsh1tted.

First time I had ever seen Peaches Geldof on TV, but I found her quite charming, intellgent ,witty and quirky. The Seoige sisters are dull and uninspiring in comparison. Fail to see why they are considered attractive... dull country young wans, especially the younger one.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 28,128 ✭✭✭✭Mossy Monk

I wouldn't consider the younger of the two attractive but Grainne, wow.

Yeah,Grainne is a cracker but the younger one has a bit of a head on her alright.

    I still would though...

Sile Seoige was born down syndrome I'd say. Grainne is fine.

Peaches is 'minging' and her little sister Pixie is even worse. They are repulsive. Why she was on Tubridy is beyond me. Get real f**king jobs you sad bitches. God, what has Paris Hilton started

Typical of Irish television and the morons who work there that somebody would think it a good idea to interview a sour-faced,petulant litlle pup like peaches geldoff.
Fat-arse Gerry Ryan is probably kicking himself that he didnt get there first to ask her about her sex life.

The Seoige sisters can kiss my hole. I don't see why people think they're hot at all.

There's way better looking and much nicer women working in RTE.

There's a young blondey Cork wan who presents some kids show Eye to Eye or something like that. Much nicer and prettier.

The older of the Seoige sisters is a complete wagon. Disliked within RTE as well as outside. Bland TV presenting style, bitchy and rude in person and well not the 'stunner' that some people seem to think she is.

Look mate, the day to day staff in RTE have nothing to do with who appears on TV. Producers have the final say but certainly not your average staff member. I agree she acts like a "petulant little pup" but it is what it is - Saturday night tv. However Tubridy is more entertaining than all his guests put together. Don't paint all people who work in tv with the same brush. Have you nothing better to do on a Saturday night? Watching a tv show and then resorting to calling the staff of RTE morons just because you didn't like one of the guests. Get over it. Watch BBC instead, you never get them sort of guests on the BBC

I used to know somebody who worked in RTE.She was always hard-pressed to explain exactly what she did there.
She also said that it had hundreds of people working there doing pretty much nothing as it was so badly run they never bothered to streamline the operation.
This is where the licence fee goes.

Had she still been in London, nobody would have cared. Why? Because she's a nobody, just that she has a famous dad. She's such an annoying, condescending little tw@t in those TV programmes she's done. The UK papers are fed up of her, and don't give her any page time, unless she's got her tits out.

She's just like another Paris Hilton. All we need now is a "stolen" sex tape.

Sorry to burst your bubble. I used to work for RTE and yes they do employ hundreds but everybody there works extremely hard. RTE clearly pay a huge amount in wages every year but you have to remember these people aren't working in tescos. Most staff there are highly skilled and qualified in their respective areas. Believe me nobody in RTE spends the day doing nothing. Don't get me wrong, there is always room for improvement and streamlining but this doesn't justify calling employees morons. Are you jealous or just have a general dislike for RTE because of what your friend told you? It's a great place to work.

Are you joking me? I thought maybe you just had bad taste when you said Tubridy was entertaining earlier, but now I know you are just an RTE fan. Can you name one decent show that they have created, ever? Everything they make is poorly produced, a rip off of a British TV show or else a drama with the same twenty actors that have been recycled for the last 5 years.

I'm sure the cameramen, sound men, engineers etc. no what they are doing and the ladies in the canteen probably make a decent vegetable soup, but pull the other one if you want anyone to agree that RTE is a well run operation TV wise.

    Draupnir wrote: »

That's who I'm talking about. There are hundreds of technical staff there who are highly skilled. Nearly all the presenters are not RTE staff. They are contracted in from agencies. (I understand somebody in RTE gives them the contract etc...) Also RTE only produce a tiny amount of what they broadcast. Half the studio shows they do are produced by other companies also, so it's not entirely up to RTE. They don't have as much control over what is aired because they are the national broadcaster. I'm not arguing that RTE have poor programmes and productions (that's a given). God knows they need a major face lift and some new original programmes. As for Tubridy, I just like his sense of humor. I get the impression that no matter how serious he is trying to be he's really just taking the piss out of the guests in a polite way. I'm not a fan of any RTE tv show at all. To be honest the only programme I watch is the news and podge & rodge.

Jealous? The organisation is a joke and you know it.If they're paying out huge amounts in wages and thier programming is a load of crap then they're not very efficient now are they?
The hundreds of people who spend all day on the phone selling advertising space arent "highly skilled" through any stretch of teh imagination.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 625 ✭✭✭QuadLeo

Jesus man you have issues. You're very passionate about it. RTE is run badly. There are not hundreds working in marketing and advertising. There are hundreds of technical staff. The technical staff have absolutely no say in the content or quality of production. They give the same quality of work whether it's the late late show or a kids show. Clearly the issues we are discussing is the fault of RTE executives and those in charge of the overall quality of programmes and their content. This is a handful of people and unfortunately they keep churning out the same old rubbish. I don't disagree with what is being said here only the fact that you referred to all rte staff as morons.
