Eagle Eye is a 2008 action/thriller film directed by D.J. Caruso and starring Michelle Monaghan and Shia LaBeouf. The two portray a single mother and a young man, respectively, both of whom are framed as people they aren't and are coerced into carrying out the terrorist cell's plot.

Went to see this tonight and it was pretty good. Some quality action scenes with some smart arse one liners thrown in. Typical plot idea though (not too disimilar from 'I-Robot' in its theory).

Billy Bob Thornton is also in it and plays his role well. Overall very enjoyable and worth going to see.

Not sure when it's out over there though.

For an action movie this is pretty good. However towards the end I was on the side of the Computer?????
They could have killed the main character off when they shot him in the back

I liked the way the girl could knock back a pint and a spirt and then get into a car!!!! and save the world !!!!

I had high expectations but found it to be fairly poor.

I thought it was pretty bad, very boring. Turned it off before the end.

Just watched this, didn't know anything about it and thought it was excellent. Non stop action from start to finish.

    Quality movie!! 9/10

This was just on the other night and I gave it a watch.
I expected it would be rubbish, and deep inside I knew it was, though I couldn't help but enojoy it.

One thing that I can't for the life of me figure out was, why did
the computer woman have all thos weapons etc sent to Jerrys flat? I mean she(it) didn't want him to get arrested so surely it would have been better not to land him in the **** like that?

I found the movie fairly tedious but it reminded me of the Total Information Awareness project run by DARPA, the US's far-out military research agency, which I reckon provided the kernel of the movie's basic plot. Darpa funded versions of the internet and the pilotless drones such as the Predator and the Reaper in their early stages so they can come up with the goods from time-to-time.

It's a pity the movie was such a run of the mill action affair because they are serious worries to be had over such projects and it could have been more of a suspenseful thriller. Maybe it'd be hard to do in a 2 hour film though.

From the Wikipedia entry on the project:
"The Information Awareness Office (IAO) was established by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in January 2002 to bring together several DARPA projects focused on applying surveillance and information technology to track and monitor terrorists and other asymmetric threats to national security, by achieving Total Information Awareness (TIA).

This would be achieved by creating enormous computer databases to gather and store the personal information of everyone in the United States, including personal e-mails, social networks, credit card records, phone calls, medical records, and numerous other sources including, without any requirement for a search warrant.[1] This information would then be analyzed to look for suspicious activities, connections between individuals, and "threats".[2] Additionally, the program included funding for biometric surveillance technologies that could identify and track individuals using surveillance cameras, and other methods.

I think you were expecting too much from this movie or any summer Hollywood blockbuster.
