Yes, I'm a muppet and greatly appreciate any advice here.

New imac and was trying to install Windows XP on bootcamp.
All going great until I had to select a partition.
There was 660gb for Leopard and 32gb for Windows XP. I stupidly deleted the partition with Leopard

Now I start the imac and I get "Bootmgr, not found, Cntrl + Alt + Del to restart". This is a Windows XP error.

If I laucnh with the Leopard dvd in the imac, it loads up for a few minutes. I get the startup tone, the white background and apple in centre of screen but a minute later it you get a screen stating "you need to restart the computer", hold down the power button for several seconds or press the restart button".
All this does is power off the imac, doesn't change anything.

Is it possible to boot from the Leopard DVD and select a partition? Thanks for your help, been googling all morning

Press C while the computer is loading to boot from the DVD.

    Issue resolved.
Had to put my old macbook into some mode, you hold down T on startup. You link the two computers with a firewire cable

Then reformat the drive on the imac there was nothing on it but a partially installed copy of windows.
And then copy across everything from the macbook.
Took me hours and won't be making that mistake again.:o

Reminds me of the good old days, live re-partitioning my Mac OS 9 work partitions and then installing a very crufty MKLinux using the command line... On a set of SCSI drives! I'm still not sure how much of it was luck, although I always used to say "5th time fairly lucky".

You youngsters, you have it so easy.

Yes, you can boot the imac holding down the c key and it will boot off the installation disc, you could run windows in vmware, it runs as fast as it would natively, the benifits being you can use both OS's at the same time, Good Luck. ;)
