What is your great passion in life?

So what is it folks? And I'm well aware that some people will go overboard and name about 15 different things to show how busy they are, so maybe try to limit it to your biggest passion (at the moment). Something all engrossing that makes you lose time when you are pursuing it.

For me, for the last few weeks, it has been listening to music (something I had fallen out of doing and had let slide) and even trying to play some of the tunes on an old guitar of mine.

    What's your's?

(Yore Ma is my other great passion btw just before anyone else says it:rolleyes:)

I wouldn't say it's a great passion, but I'm passionate about the Irish language.* (Not in a scary "oooh you can't speak Irish so I must shun/kill you" kind of way though!)

    And cooking/baking.

*How sad is it that my passion involves my job??

Baking new things gets me very excited altogether! I wish I had more time to fuel my passion for ballet, but I can only get to one class a week. I love that hour and a half, and even though it's Sunday mornings, I always make it.

Learning languages and in turn learning about the culture of the countries that speak those languages. So, i'm happy we live in a multicultural environment. I have several friends from Italy, France, Spain and Germany and it's great to see them in Dublin especially during the summer. I love how each nationality has a different outlook on life and how they love to talk to you about their culture while you can talk to them about Ireland.

Going to the gym and getting fit has been my passion for the past 6 weeks. But I go through phases so this will likely last about another month or so before it goes on to something else.

I do love listening to music and I have a guitar and a bass, but I can't play either properly. Unfortunately I don't seem to have the patience required for it.
I don't have any really consuming passions because I am extremely impatient and rather easily bored - two very bad traits to have. :(

Ah nothing wrong with the tin whistle, once it can be played properly! I played it for a few years (around the ages 8-11) It's easy to learn (much easier than guitar or bass anyway, as I have found out) and when she gets better, it will actually sound nice! :)

DJ'ing. i do pretty much exclusively for a living, and i love it. even the boring nights are somewhat rewarding. if you take it seriously, it is hard work, but worth it.

it wouldn't be my biggest passion - although it's my latest - and bring together my love for listening to music and playing guitar.

Well for the last 5 years the thing I've been spending the most time on is qualifying in my profession. Only another 3 years or so to go! I guess that could be a passion. Other than that I don't have any burning passion that I dedicate loads of time to but have loads of interests each taking up differing amounts of time depending on my mood.
