Should the Goverment just give us all a million bucks each and we can get the economy moving again. It would be cheaper than giving the Banks €4bn if things go tits up.

    Ehh

    €1,000,000 x 6,000,000 people = €6,000,000,000,000

For a start there aint 6 million people in this country. Secondly when you remove children from the equation the amount would be much less. Be realistic dude.

There aint 6 million people in the country. Obviously chisslers wont be getting the million bucks so that reduces the overall cost again. Be realistic dude.

If we aint paying the children, then I propose we force them into sweatshop labour where they can make cheap trainers for Far Eastern Markets.

This in turn means we can all get another million quid each in 10 years when we fcuk everything up again. YEAY!

Inflation would go through the roof, and once the money is spent we'd be left unable to afford anything.

Well if you want €4bn shared between 4million'ish people then it's "maths", if you only want €1000 each though then you can call it "math" if you really must.

No, they shouldn't. It would be inflation++

Believe it or not, in one of those really rich middle eastern countries there was a plan to pay off all the citizens of the countrys debt. I think it was UAE. They decided against it in the end as it was going to be unfair to those who hadn't taken out loans...

There's a British billion, a million million, which imo is what a billion should bloody well be and an American billion, a thousand million which is, unfortunately, what a billion is usually referring to. So only a grand each, not discounting for children and women of course.

And that fact is relevant to this thread how? There's a 6 million peope group on flicker, 6 million people is ~10% of the world's population, 6 million people got rickrolled this April's Fool day, 6 million people live in Baghdad. It's just a number.

yeah, the whole long scale short scale thing really messes with my head. the long scale is easier to work with. Damn Brits caved in 1974 though. :(

In this country, we learn mathematics, plural. Maybe where you come from, all they have is arithmetic?

Sort of, it was based on income level and you had to have filed your taxes for 2007. It was called the Economic Stimulus Package. Small breakdown below.
The payment is equal to the taxpayer’s net income tax liability but no more than $600 for a single person or $1,200 for a married couple filing a joint return. The minimum payment is $300 for a single person or $600 for a married couple filing jointly.

People with no net income tax liability will usually get a minimum payment of $300 for a single person or $600 for a married couple filing jointly as long as they have qualifying income of at least $3,000.

I want to thank you for that comment, really i do. but it just escapes me how you think issuing each person a million euro (not bucks) will solve anything. Since it seemed to have flown over everyone's head I will repeat myself: Zimbabwe. That is all.

You're an idiot. It would work out at roughly 1,000. Again, you're an idiot.
