Quick question before I book a flight. Does anyone know whether there would be any issue with bringing an electric shower unit in my hand luggage to UK. It'll fit in the bag no prob, but just wondering, in these crazy times will they think it's a bomb and surround me with AK-47s?

You'll have to ask the airline directly, they probably have a policy about what's acceptable hand luggage. You could have a problem if the X-ray machine can't see inside the shower's copper heating canister. In that case they might refuse to take it or insist it goes into the cargo bay.

"Excuse me sir, have you taken a shower this morning?" :)

Wrap it in bubble wrap and check it. Even if the airline has no problem with it, you are then at the random discretion of airport security.

I would agree. Surely it is worth paying €10 (or whatever your airline charge) for the assurance that you will not be stopped with it.

If surrounded with guys holding AK47s on your travels to the UK then you've got far greater problems ;)
