    Hi,

I have just got my MBP and the keyboard takes a little getting used to (amongst other things).

Can ANYONE please tell me how to type out the euro symbol?

On my keyboard, the number 2 button has the number 2 (obviously :D) the @ symbol and the euro symbol.

I have tried untold combinations of shift + function or ctrl +alt etc etc etc....but I can't figure it out.

    cheers

all that does Aidan is switch my "spaces" from space 1 to space 2.

Do I have to shut down and disable the spaces function just to type a euro symbol?

    cheers

Apple Menu -> System Preferences -> Exposé and Spaces.

Select the Spaces tab at the top. Now, at the bottom, there's a drop down menu beside the words 'To switch between spaces.' I suspect you have this set to 'Option (the thing that looks like some sort of maths symbol) + Number Keys.' Switch it to one of the other options and then do what Aidan said to type the euro symbol.

Cheers Breezer. Just changed the prefs on my spaces to CMD + nbr to switch spaces and I can then use the Alt + 2 to use the euro symbol.

Thanks for the help guys.....I am sure I will have many more silly questions to post before I get used to this.

But after years & years of worshiping Billy Gates I am determined to make the most of what Mr. Jobs has to offer :D.

I will be honest and say there are some things I prefer on my old MS lappy to this MBP (such as the email prog.....I really don't like imail) but there are loads of things that I do like so I am sure that in the long run I will be glad I converted.

Thanks again for your help guys

You're welcome. And there's always alternatives if you don't like something. Mozilla Thunderbird, for example, or Microsoft Entourage. What email client were you using on Windows?

I was using Outlook but I do have MS for windows on here (for Excel & word docs) so I might give Entourage a bash.
