    Ladies,

I've been thinking of what present to get the gf for xmas.

    I need your help...

I know what I want but have no idea of what where or how much (but know they are expensive.)

So...the Manolo shoes in SATC Movie. The ones that Carrie goes back to collect from her walk in closet and meets Big there...

Where to can I get these and how much am I looking at (thinking about €800?)

Congrats :) that's still a lot of cash imo.

Would she really really really love them do you think?

I'd try either BT's or Harvey Nicks, failing that then you might have to buy online?

I always tell my oh that I would love a pair of
those too, but really, if he got them id kill him:D
They are car to bar shoes which would get wrecked
    in our wet weather.

Get her a €500 BT voucher and she will love you forever.

If your sure its what she wants look on-line.

    You're mad.

800 is too much for a pair of shoes that will be out of style in 3 months.

Wot she said lol, I LOVE shoes, but I'd not want that much money spent on one gift first off, and secondly they will go out of fashion as Silverfish says.

If you want to spend 800 on your girlfriend's girft, that's fine. You can probably afford to do it. It's not too much if it's affordable to you.

If my boyfriend was gonna spend that on my, I'd like a handbag. They last much longer, they don't hurt and can be brought more places. You could get a nice one in BTs for e800.

800 quid is enough for a week in the sun for 2 people!

Gimme a pair of plastic flipflops and a week in the sun anyday! :D

Manolo's will never go out of style! If she really likes shoes, a pair of Louboutins would also be a great present. With the red sole and classy styles, they really are a fashion icon. Set you back about 500.

€800 for a pair of shoes for Christmas

Have you given any thought to how high you're setting the bar for the next present you will be buying her?

You're digging a hole for yourself and using a JCB to do it.

The OP didnt ask whether he should buy those shoes for his gf or even ask if any of us thought it was a good idea.
He asked for locations to buy them for her. If he wants to spend that much on shoes or any other item surely thats his choice.
OP I would say for the Manolos online would def be your best bet, I have googled them before and lots of websites came up selling them. You could try BTs like some of the others were saying but Im not sure I rem ever seeing them in there.

    Good luck

According to this article they were created for the film, but went on sale in Manolo Blahnik's New York store in June and were $885: http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/2008/05/29/2008-05-29_a_blue_pair_of_manolo_blahniks_have_towe.html. Maybe call the store and see if they have them?

Honestly, if someone gave me those shoes for Christmas, I would never be able to wear them because I would have died with happiness.

Edit: I found them on neimanmarcus.com, they're actually $945, which is still less than €800. You can't order online for international addresses, you need to call them to make the order. http://www.neimanmarcus.com/store/catalog/prod.jhtml?itemId=prod64820067&parentId=cat000209&masterId=cat000199&cmCat=

if you are gonna spend €800 on your GF - my opinion would be a BT voucher - then she could pick coat, shoes, dress etc

I think it's a really nice idea, if you're sure that she really wants them then I don't see why you shouldn't get them for her. It's a lot of money to spend on a present, but that's your business. I wouldn't bother giving her a voucher tbh, sure she can pick what she wants and would probably get a lot more than one pair of shoes, but if the shoes are something that she'd love then she would appreciate them a lot more than a voucher. Just be sure that she really does want them, I probably told my boyfriend that I loved them too when I was watching the film, but I would *kill* him if he bought them for me. If you do decide to buy them annie1000's post is very helpful.

try net-a-porter.com, they do a lot of designer shoes online... not a massive discount from shop prices but a bit cheaper none the less!
