basic bench

Hi all,

I'm looking to pick up a basic bench. I'm training for running and need to be doing 2-3 weight session a week. But due to work and family reason and 5 serunning session a week. I would only be able to make the gym once a week. i've been given a set of weights but looking for a basic bench that doesnt cost too much .

How do the benches in argos rate?

TBH I wouldnt bother with the bench. Takes up too much room and you are hitting the gym once a week anyway. What do you intend doing on the bench? Just bench pressing? I would save that for the decent bench in the gym. Do dips on chairs or inclined pushups if you really must work the chest 2-3times a week, in fact the variation might be better.

I have a cheapo argos bench but no longer use it, I do weighted dips on gymnastic rings on my chinning bar.

The benches in argos are mostly beginner ones, a bit shoddy, I do not like the york one I have the use of.
