ok so this is probably a stupid question to most but im just setting up paypal and wondering what i need..can i just transfer money from my aib account into my paypal account or do i need a visa/laser card?!also what is the banks sort code that it requests me to give when adding an account on paypal!?cheers in advance and sorry for the newbie question!

You can't add funds to your Paypal account from an Irish bank. You can add a bank account, but that's only for withdrawing money from Paypal. You also can't add money from a credit card, but you can use the card to fund a payment to someone. Only credit cards can be used, not Laser. Visa debit cards probably work, but I've never used one.

The bank's sort code is the bank identifier code, and goes something like 93-34-14. It's on your statement.

Why then does paypal.ie provide their Bank of America (Dublin) account number for bank transfers in Euro?

I think you can transfer money in, by lodging it directly to their account, but not from your account. Registering your account with them does nothing for payments.

I have a personal paypal account and have only ever used it to buy stuff.
But now i was tinking about selling a couple of things on ebay. Can anyone tell me if i can sell and recieve money no problem or do i need to upgrade my account to sell stuff and recieve money?

There are limitations on the amount you can receive with a personal account. You'll really need to upgrade to a premier account if you want to sell.
