    Darth Vader is actually Lukes father

    Personally I'd just play the game through...

    Actually, don't you have to play the (slightly disappointing) fourth game to find out the secret?

    EDIT: Yes, I paid attention to the plot of Monkey Island. No, I don't know why I bothered after Monkey Island 2.

    3 was pretty decent. 4 was dire though.. I think i managed about 2 hours of playtime in that before I uninstalled it.

    The guy who made 2 left Lucasarts (can't remember names now) so the cliffhanger ending of part 2 was largely ignored in part 3. He still hopes to be able to resolve it the way he wanted so hasn't revealed what the secret was. My guess is we'll never know...

    I thought three was great. I loved the first two also. Four not so much though. A new MI game would go straight to the top of my want list but I don't see it happening. And if it is it better not be all 3D and stuff. Make it old school. Make it great.

    Yeah, Ron Gilbert left after 2. I was never too bothered about the ending for 2 being ignored..never expected to take the game seriously at all :D

    Keyboard controls DID suck though. One of the reasons i've never finished Grim Fandango either...moving from mouse control to keyboard control was a huge step backward, no matter what anyone says.

    I'm with you there Lemonhead. I got a good bit into Fandango but never did complete it. I'm going to be replaying MI 1, 2 and 3 some time soon in the future. I think I'll leave four unless I really get into it but I'm definitely going to try to get into GF this time.

    I still have fond memories of playing MI 1 and 2 on my Amiga. Does anyone remember the copy protection on both games?:) I've played both again on my PSP a few months back and there still funny as hell.

    I'll admit to having a copied version of Monkey2 at first. I got someone to copy the code wheel for me, photocopied the wheel at ever possible turn all the way through :D

    The copy I bought had the copy protection removed. was a Kixx re-release I think (box is in the cupboard somewhere..) where you just put in any numbers you wanted and it worked.

    I have my monkey 1 code wheel somewhere, though it's looking a bit beat up now :\

    I also knew someone who made a copy of the game too. They took the wheel apart, photocopied both layers, cut the pages circular, cut the necessary rectangular holes and fastened the pages together with a pin so it span just like a real one :D

    2 -> 3 -> 1 -> 4

    That would by my order for them. Number 2 was the first one I played. Took a year for me to complete on all difficulty settings. Number 3 was brilliant as it was the first time you heard Guybrush speak! Can't remember much from the 1st one. But thought the 4th one was dire. Could never get past the Monkey Kombat bit, and was never too bothered either.

    I never did like hearing him speak.
