I was just posting comments on Righteous Kill in the reviews section when I realised that the following description fits the bill of so many movies...

Cop buddy movie, "you're off the case!", a shouty Police Captain, a younger love interest, a loose cannon, another cop pair put on the case, older cops still investigating, a marriage in difficulty, "this is out of your jurastiction!", corrupt cops, a shootout or shady deal at the docks, an alcoholic or heavy drinker, the feds get involved, a criminal of eastern European extraction etc etc

How many movies can you name that fit most if not all of this description?
Is there any further plot points tht can be added to the list?

Once we have the definitive list, we can find out what is the ultimate cliched cop movie!:D
