    Are you a musician?

I'm new to Boards but have heard that it is the best resource around for finding and meeting up with other musicians.

I'm a late twenties guitarist/lyricist/singer/songwriter that has been performing and working on my writing for a few years. The music I like to listen to and write is in the folk/acoustic/storytelling mould á la Simon & Garfunkel, Eva Cassidy, Rufus, Iron & Wine, Gordon Lightfoot, Tom Waits & Nick Drake.

I'm going to start performing the material live and want to to get a 3-piece together with other musicians, with one or both providing harmony vocals. I'm open to any instrument but I'd like to meet similar-minded musicians who are looking to collaborate with a songwriter and add their own touch to the sound. We could then practise until tight enough to hone our live set in the numerous singer/songwriter nights around the city and use contacts to take it from there.

If you like the sound of this and are looking to be part of something new, long-term and exciting or even if you are a musician and have ideas but would like to find out more, please send me a PM and I'll forward some studio recordings to give you a better idea. All suggestions welcomed.

I look forward to hearing from you.
