    Its called 'saxosonique' music.

Okay, I'll take my tongue out of my cheek now. You are daft! But would think that certain types of music like acid jazz or nu jazz would feature it a lot more.

I find it very difficult to differentiate between the different genre's.
How on earth do you know what type your listening to ?
    Haha thanks.

The technically minded can explain it all in terms of number of beats per minute, and then perhaps features like 'hoovers' and breakbeats used in rave or the gradual change in the structure of the tune that might signal progressive. But hard to beat just listening to tunes, maybe on something like youtube and reading the 'more info' section. You'll quickly get to distinguish between the main ones, house, techno, ambient, drum n bass, trance etc - the classic sound and pace of each is completely different. Once you listen to enough you'll easily pick up all the sub genres, say funky house or progressive house or minimal techno. There's no real art to it, its like figuring out the difference between punk and grunge and metal. Sometimes the borders can blur a little, and in general I'm not even sure the descriptions are that important at all. But guess if you're standing outside a club and it says 'trance' on the flyer you might like a fair idea of what you're facing.

Rune - Calabria was a great tune until someone ruined it with those horrible lyrics...

Two anthems I can think of with a sax, or at least a sax sound, are

    Guru Josh - Infinity

    808 State - Pacific
    http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUhyFfuHGUg

And now for something completely different
FSOL - Far Out Son of a Lung and the Ramblings of a Madman
    http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=7g0sNbHWf9k
(Think thats a trumpet, or that jazz trumpet sound, that they use)
