I picked up a Panasonic HDD vid camera and in a moment of madness forgot to check its compatibility with Mac. Low and behold the supplied software is Windows friendly only altho the instructions does say you can transfer the raw data to a mac.

Will iMovie be sufficient for my needs or is there any other packages plugins i should get?

if its standard def, then imovie 06 or 08 will work.
