Checkpoint on N2 this morning

    Did anyone see the checkpoint on the N2 this morning?

    It seemed to be a massive joint garda/customs operation. They had about 20 foreign reg cars pulled over onto the hard shoulder.

    What struck me was the speed limit on that particular stretch of the N2 is 120kmh, the road was pretty wet and the checkpoint was just after a slight bend to the right.

    I'm surprised they didn't have a major pile-up on their hands.

    While maybe not the best place to do it its still good to see. The amount of foreign reg cars around Ashbourne seems to be on the increase
