    Hi all, new here.

My fiancee and i are considering having our wedding reception at Horetown House in Wexford.

We went there at the weekend to meet the events manager and were impressed with what we saw, we also had Sunday lunch and sampled some wine.

It's all well and good seeing somewhere and liking it but it's hard to imagine what it would be like for a wedding.

we're looking for some (wedding specific) reviews but nothing has turned up on google searches.

has anybody either been married or been to a wedding here?

any help or comments would be much appreciated.

    thanks

    w.

    p.s. we're provisionally booked for Dec 09.

    Hi Wardle,

Myself and my fiance have booked Horetown house for our reception. It is proving difficult to get reviews on it as a venue though. We have been invited to view it end of Oct as there is a wedding then to see what it looks like all set up etc. You should prob do the same to ease your mind. How many guests are you having? We are having about 45 and will have a band and dj in the room upstairs. As we are getting hitched before you we can certainley let you know how it went etc.

    hi, that'd be great thanks.

we were also invited down in october, i think at least one of us will go down.

i think our main concern (other than the usual credit crunch "will they still be trading" thing) was whether the room was big enough for a band etc.

    we're having circa 60 people.

we have asked them for some testimonials, but haven't received any yet, will let you know what we find.

are you having your ceremony there too? we're having a bit of carry on getting a church/priest

    Hi there,

We're also considering there. The prices seem reasonable, looks nice on the internet and so far have been helpful by e-mail. Have either of you visited the place since your last posts? Any further thoughts would be great. We may travel down there over the next few days. Will let you know our thoughts on it.

hi, we've now actually booked somewhere else (tinakilly nr wicklow) but this was more based on location as we're up in dublin and wanted to get married (as in the ceremony) up here so it was a bit of a trek down to wexford.

it's definately worth a visit, when we went we had lunch which was really nice.

the wedding organiser is really nice there too.

just didn't work out for us in terms of location.

    best of luck!

    Hey,

Well best of luck in your new location. I've been there before, it's very nice. We went to Horetown House over the weekend for a visit but to be honest weren't completely gone on it. It was a bit miserable looking (obviously, a grey January doesn't help) and we didn't think the Cellar restaurant was ideal for the meal. The organiser is very helpful and the bedrooms are AMAZING but it is a bit of a journey and wasn't quite what we were hoping for.

    Hi Guys..

Just wondering if any of you actually did go ahead and have your wedding here? We are getting married there this year and would love a review or even an idea of what you thought.

    Many thanks
    Freddie
