. . . been pregnant and still got periods throughout?

I'm starting to worry, lately, I've put up a lot of weight around my hips and belly, I still get periods but they seem very light, I've done a pregnancy test which was neg, I was pregnant before and knew the instant it happened, I don't feel any different now apart from the weight gain, I'm driving myself crazy that I can feel very slight movement but am also convinced that it's just my own heart beating that I can feel. I just started college today as a mature student and this would be a very very bad time for something like this to happen, I'm slow to go to the doc as I'm afraid he'll think I'm a mentaller for blaming being fat on a fictional pegnancy, I'm probably just paranoid, aren't I???

Our minds can play very weird tricks on us. Go to the doctor and put your mind at rest.

Aye dudara's right, there's nothing wrong with verifying it. Everyone has the odd 'Do I have this or not?' time and thinkng you might be pregnant..well it must be driving you bonkers.

Verify it, knowing the truth is better than not.

You're probably ok :) There were times since my son was born that i could have sworn I felt the early movements - phantom kicks, I called them. They never led to a baby :) Just go see your doctor if you're worred - I can promise you they've heard worse! Good luck with the course!

I get phantom kicks still :)

If you are still having a monthly period, and pregancy test is negative then your prob not!

You are feeling particularly sensitive about the issue, so ever little thing that would be a pregnancy symptom, your prob thinking you are!

Go to the doc if you are worried, and best of look in college :)

    thanks so much,
I think for once things are going well for me so I'm profoundly more scared of forking things up, gonna head to a doc anyway and get a handle on this weight issue as well,

it's just you hear of people suddenly having kids after being blithely unaware of the pregnancy (it happened a local woman recently which is prob why I'm letting my imagination run away with me)

You hear those stories, alright, but speaking as one who is as we speak having her bladder used as a trampoline, I don't get it :)

At the end of the day, those stories are still rare, and I think some of those ladies are aware at some level but in denial.. Although I'm sure there are the legitimate cases, too. Seeing the doc is the best way to put your mind at ease! Good decision!

This is exactly what happened to a very good friend of mine. Got her period all the way through, was twenty odd weeks before it clicked (put very little weight on)

Im not trying to scare you, just go to your doc and put your mind at ease. Simple, done in a minute..know one way or the other.

    Let us know ;)

This happened to a friend's stepmother. Apparently the news she was pregnant was a bit of shock to all concerned as she hadn't put any weight on. (something about the way the baby was lying)

This also happened to a good friend of my best friend. They have photos of her at a party when she was quite a few months gone and you wouldn't have thought she was pregnant at all. That was another shocker.

The above has me paranoid as hell!! :)

If in doubt go to your doctor and get it all checked out. It's great to be able to pay for peace of mind :)

    A.
