You may have been moved onto their new webmail system.

Go into the server settings in Windows mail and change your incomming mail server from mail1.eircom.net to webmail.eircom.net. See if that helps.

A lot of folk are having the same problem.
Even when they change to the new server name, they are still having problems.

I use MS Outlook which detects settings automatically and just looked at the server settings which are:

    Incoming: pop.eircom.net
    Outgoing: smtp.eircom.net

These are woking fine for me.

This would not work for me when I entered mail1.eircom.net, but when I entered webmail.eircom.net, it did, and transferred over all the messages that I had read on webmail.
