I'd be more worried about him/her reading boards and recognising this little scenario that you're in...

I hate to admit it but I probably would if there was a guarantee I wouldn't get caught :o

Although, I am really unlucky so I probably would get caught somehow.

Changed my mind....wouldn't do it! :)

Maybe he was thinking of promoting you and staged the whole thing to see if you could be trusted!?!?!

Without a shadow of a doubt.
In fact something similar happened last week except they left their folder behind... :D

technically speaking he gave you access which sort of gives you the freedom to look.you never know what you might find in there: maybe hes up to shady dealings.

A bit odd that he allowed you access unless it was a trap to check your honesty.

While you still have a job there, email salaries from his account with a recommendation for a pay rise for yourself. When they're calculating your severance package it would be best for you to be earning a bit more.

Send an email to HR approving your 50% pay rise, and additional 2 weeks paid annual leave

    :pac:

Your boss probably had IT install monitors on their email account to see what emails were opened. My guess is you're fired when he gets back.

And all he has to do is look at the log files to see what you've been up to on his pc....

you could be in trouble missy:)

No I don't think you did anything wrong as long as you don't tell anyone....oops you've just told 100,000 people....:)

I expect your resignation letter on my desk tomorrow.

    Signed,
    The Boss.

So you missed the one where he outlined his plan to downsize your department? I guess he's just going to have to man up and tell you straight out.

    So long, toots!

My dad uses that trick on employees all the time. Sorry. I'm pretty sure that was a test.....

    Best fess up..

Don't talk about this sh*t on boards. You'd be surprised how easily colleagues can guess that somebody in work is a boardsie.

Don't listen to the begrudgers anniehoo. I think it's very brave of you to get voluntarily dismissed at the beginning of a recession.

    Well done.

(Oh and don't forget you no longer need to include yourself in the party planning so that should save the company a couple of euro.)
